I bought a pack of 3 cables for $8 on Amazon about a year ago.  Knew I should have held out another 12 months or so.

Be warned, out of some cable boxes if you plug in the HDMI cable to your TV, and then the digital audio cable into your A/V receiver (because your AV receiver doesn't have HDMI ports), than you sometimes can't get Dolby Digital through your A/V receiver, because the HDMI connection is taking the Dolby Digital Signal.

You have like a million Fox Sports channels on directTV?  Seems like the best provider for sports fans.   :dunno:

Now that my 18 months with Dish is over, I might consider switching to DirectV.  It would be hard to give up the VIP 722 though.  How good is the DVR on DTV?

I got HDMI cables like 2 years ago at wal mart for about $10.

If you want to route sound to your A/V Receiver from your sat recvr or DVD, you should use the optical or coax digital inputs.  Usually there's ways to re-program which mode uses the digital inputs.

I actually bought those back when they were $0.98 per.  They hit you with the shipping charge on each cable no matter how many you order but it's still not too bad.  I'd go with Monoprice or Blue Jean if I were buying more.

Yeah but they black out games that aren't in your area...most of the time.

&@#%ing u-verse does the same crap.  They just tease me by letting me know how many cool games are on, but I can't watch most of them.  I always thought blackouts were for local games, to increase the number of fans actually going to the game, rather than watching it at home.  guess I was wrong.

They dropped 3 cents in one day   At this rate they will be 1 cent in 12 days.  After that they will start paying you to buy them.

Wonder if you can buy stock in them.  Surely they will go back up!
