we were just better, and there was nothing they could do about it.

sweet f'ing christ, I miss defense.
Signs of life: Honestly, the defense played well. Shad Criss intercepted two passes, and Mizzou only gave up one first-half touchdown. But when your offense puts up 47 yards in three quarters, it doesn't matter what the defense is doing.
-
I really miss being accused of this:
The game's biggest fireworks came late, when KSU, with their starters still in the game, threw a 22-yard touchdown pass in the final two minutes. Mizzou's defensive players--who really had played pretty well all game--took umbrage to KSU's attempt at running the score up, and there was quite a bit of verbal sparring after the game.
:'(

Beating the ever loving dog out of Larry Smith teams was simply amazing.
Larry had a major hard on for K-State, and mizzou was some of the biggest $hit talking, cheap shot a-holes in college football.
The 1997 mu game in Manhattan was one for the ages, they thought they were gonna walk in and beat the crap out of K-State, and K-State just dominated from the opening kickoff.

I was at KSU from 1994 and graduated in December of 98 I think this was possibly 4 of the best years of KSU football. Never missed a home game an made some nice road trips to Austin, Columbia, and Lawrence in those years. Speaking of Defense remember when we held the heisman trophy winner to 54 yards rushing at Austin? I was there. Loved our defense. I remember on more than one occation holding on 1st and 1 on the goal line and not letting them score.
-
hung out w/ corby jones last weekend for a bit, however, did not rub 30-0 in.

Yeah, I was there from fall of 93 until spring of 98. Definately a great time to be an EMAW student.

Has he just moved into the Faloon for good now? Did he have his dog?

At KSU 83-87. :-[ EMAW didn't exist. Hell, they had a hard time giving away tickets. I won a set for the Oklahoma game. Didn't go, just drank beer.

I don't remember that. I remember a similar event happening in Manhattan, though...

That's one of the few games I was at that is notable. Should have been the runner-up Heisman though, Bishop not taking first was a travesty :curse:
Another (which I scarcely remember, I was a lil EMAW) was a Colorado game at home where we beat them, ending a losing streak and the goalposts went down. All I remember is it was cold and before the game, Willy beat up some dude dressed in a crappy version of Colorado's mascot suit.

To those of you who graduated in 1997 :beerchug:
My first day was Aug 98 and graduated in Dec 01 - UNREAL experience.
Witnessed David Allen in Austin pointing down the sideline
Witnessed beating NU for the first time in 29 yrs (19 deg and in a tee shirt and jeans and consumed a LOT of Crown Royal and Hot Damn)
Witnessed the loudest point EVER at BSFS when we blocked the kick in the 2000 (i think) OU game and took it in for a TD.
Witnessed the 66-0 drubbing of MU in 1999 (keg stands at 730 am as there was an 1130ish kick)
Witnessed Pete Carroll lose to EMAW... both times in person!
Those were some GREAT times to be a Wildcat - I want it back.
-
The '97 game vs. Colorado: I helped carry the center goal post through the Student Union to Aggieville. My most :kstatriot: moment ever (thru today at least).

You guys are right I was in Austin in 1999. We spanked the Horns like a ginger step kid. It was lots of fun to walk around Austin in Purple that night. My brain has trouble with memory past 5 years. Must be the lead paint chips I've been eating.

any of you clowns sit in the stands when chad may and company lost to a NU team playing with their 3rd string QB in an ice/rain/slush storm at like 10:00 am in the morning. played early to get on abc i think. that day made the later 90's a lot more fun.
-
17-6. First row of the South End Zone. Miserable day. Was so pumped, was in sixth grade, my grandpa was visiting, was expecting a win, Tommy Frazier had blood clots and sat out, we sucked.

Was there. After a night of pregame preparations, myself and three of my roomates decided to shave our heads and paint them purple and have KSU! in white, one letter and the exclamation point on each head. We then stood in the correct order throughout the game. Used water based paint so the rain made the paint run all over our faces. Took two months for my damn hair to grow back. Good times, good times. :kstatriot:

thought we'd never beat Nubb after losing that game

Was there. Pathetic game, very disappointing.
And I agree, I thought if we couldn't beat them that day that we probably never would.

Missed the '93 game, but I was there in '91 for Paul Watson & Michael Smith. We had a 7 point lead going in to the 4th when NU decided to quit screwing around and just jammed the ball down our throats.
The '91 game was the first true "OMFG we may actually have a real football team" moment for KSU. Went into that game with ZERO expectations unlike '93.
