I remember some prof, now retired from the Nuke Engineering department (I took something like Impact of Technology on Man . . . great course, lots of athletes in it like Mark Dobbins), said that on K Hill . . . in the various valleys along the hill, amongst the trees were little ecco systems that were like mini tropical rain forests.   I never check that out, but anybody think that's true??

I think what he meant was that those areas harbor a few different species and have microclimates that are unlike what can be found on the exposed hilltops. So like sasquatch and jaguars and emus would live in the trees because it's hot and humid in 'mer, not hang out on top of the hill.

I had PERFECT timing late afternoon yesterday. I was driving by just in time to see the thing screaming down the runway and take off. I felt like i shoulda made a wish. Prally nothing to get excited about oh well.
I think in the future we might need to expand the runways to support all the increased air traffic!  :AA:

Yes, I took that class with Dr. Donnertt, but it wasn't the same class as the one I referenced above, wish I could remember the name of the class and the prof, I am sure some of you can help . . . he was Nuke Engineering long timer like Donnertt.   We read "The Ascent of Man" in Donnertt's class . . . I probably learned more in those two classes than just about any other I took at K-State.

I also liked Dr. Donnertt because he was a big time K-Stater, not just some academic "above the fray" kind of guy.

Did not have Dr. Donnert for Impact, but did have him for Series and Differential Equations (now Elementary Differential Equations, Math 240) Recitation.  He and Professor Sloat of the Math Department did the lectures for that class.  I always respected Dr. Donnert and the fact that he wore purple and had his trusty HP-65 on his hip didn't hurt.

Oh, always loved the stories about the Polaris Missile stuff Dr. Donnertt worked on.
