When you pull up to a stop light and there's a homeless person sitting there with the obligatory, "Help Me, Anything Will Do. God Bless" sign and he's looking right at you the whole time?
Do I make eye contact? Is it insulting if I just give him 15 cents?

I always carry around a few dollar-sized copies of want ads seeking manual laborers and hand those out to the homeless folks. Odd that they never seem happy with the implied suggestion that they get a job and earn enough money to pay for their own crack. :users:

Some of those guys make a pretty good living.
One couple I used to see at a busy median, the woman was always crying on the guy's shoulder while he begged for cash. One day someone snapped a cell phone pick of them getting into a late model Jag parked 2 blocks from the intersection. It made the paper and they never showed on that corner again.

Had a homeless guy footchase me down for some reason while I was driving my car through one of those large retail center parking lots. I was driving in my Chevy Malibu company car to a friggen blockbuster. Have know I idea why I got selected to chase...but it kinda scared me.. so I got out of car put my hand out with the whole stop sign/stand back pose and told him to not approach any further with this just pissed off voice..he mumbled something and turned and walked away..but this was while I was living in Texas so he probably I thought I was packing some heat...can't remember what I rented that night...

My senior year of HS our photo class took a trip to Taos NM and Santa Fe NM. When our group was in the square at Santa Fe one guy took a photo of a dog and this homeless guy was in the background. He saw the kid take the picture, came up to us and told us we owed him 50 bucks for taking his picture. We all were like WTF?? Then the guy pulls out a harmonica, blows in it and moves it back and forth then tells us we now owe him 100 bucks because he played his harmonica for us. We started to walk away and the dood started chasing us. We lost him after a couple blocks.

Venice Beach is full of these people, pretty hilarious it's a huge freak show.
One dood is in a hut, dressed in a loin cloth and just comes out to yell " Where is my stimulus package somebody give me my stimulus check."
Another fella would say I can sing to you a little jingle and would sing Jingle Bell Jingle Bell Help Me Get Drunk Help Me Get Drunk.

I keep a solocup full of buttons, rubber bands, and pieces of quartz just to test how literal they were being.

I give at least a buck if I have it, don't care how they intend to use it, if it's to get drunk so be it, I get the good karma and God will sort out their actions. Of course, I must then ignore the no karma with God thingy.

I pay a legless black dude in Georgetown five bucks to yell random slurs about ku whenever I go there.

Was in KC getting off 435 & sitting at a light. Dude had a sign that read: "Hungry: Need $$" This lady next to us starting honking her horn and saying "Hey Mr!... Mr!!" and she was waving a bag of McD's out her car window and the dude just kept ignoring her. She was then like; "Hey Mr! I bought you some food"
He looked up; put his sign between his legs and said "Fuk u you old bitch" while he pulled a pile of money out of his pocket and started waiving it at her. Even if it had been all 1$'s it looked like it could have easily been over $100.
I haven't given a dime to those lazy fKSU ever since.
Although there was this one dude in San Fran that made me laugh so I threw a quarter in his can. He had climbed up a tree and had a can on a string with a couple of rocks in it; he was dangling in front of people jingling the rocks back & forth. When anything was thrown in he would pull the string up to get the Money out. I tell myself I gave him $$ for his creativity. Crazy bastard.
