Cokehead quarterback sues EA/NCAA because he wasn't talented enough to make real money in the NFL for using his likeness in a video game. (http://www.huskerlocker.com/blogs/view/bid/1190/i/sam_keller_takes_on_the_man/o/0)

You know, I was wondering if this would ever happen. It's unfortunate that a retarded coke-head had to head up the movement.

I believe you are incorrect sir.  I have heard many, many times from my esteemed Nubb associates that Keller was a sure-thing first round draft pick.  Further more, I have been informed, on numerous occasions, that Keller is a better QB than than our own Josh Freeman.  Are you trying to tell me that all of those Big Red faithful were dead wrong in their assessment of young Sam?  Pshaw.  Next thing you're going to tell me is that they should have never fired Solich, thus plunging their program into mediocrity for at least half a dozen years.

Seems to me that receiving any profit from his likeness would probably violate some NCAA regulation. Since he's in the College's uniform on the game, I don't believe he could be paid.

He can't.  Thats why they never use the player's names in the games.  And I would be willing to bet that student athletes sign some sort of waiver allowing the university to use their likeness for promotional purposes.  Really kinda doubt the NCAA or EA Sports would leave themselves open to any lawsuits like this.  I assume this is the first lawsuit filed on this matter, probably a very good reason for that.  Any Joe Blow off the street can hire some shady attorney to file a suit over just about anything.  Doesn't mean that suit has a leg to stand on though.

Pretty much summed up Keller's career, there.

I think it would be great if the NCAA was able to pay the athletes a small amount in order for the NCAA to use them to market stuff. Names on jerseys and in EA games, etc.

I'm all for it.  No reason the universities should be making millions off these kids with them getting so little in return.  Yeah, we could argue that college sports basically only exist to make money for and enhance the image of the universities and that these kids do receive something very valuable (a free education) in return.   Kinda like arguing about the BCS though, no real point because it isn't going to change anytime soon.

It is really impressive that out of the thousands among thousands to go through that game over the years, Sam Keller proves that he is, in effect, the biggest D-Bag of them all.  Congrats Nubb fans, and thanks for proving what we knew all along.

Nick Wright went on about this for almost an hour this morning on 610.  I hate him, and 610, so much.... but I listened to the entire segment so I guess I'm the as$ hole.
