Track & Field?  I liked the one on NES with the "power pad". We'd get on our knees and just pound the pad buttons with our hands, made the game much easier.

Played that recently, on my PSP. Activision came out with a "classics" game or w/e.  It's pretty cool, plays 80's music in the background. It has achievements that you can unlock, for Ice Hockey if you won a game it unlocked the original Ice Hockey commercial, it was funny.

2600 was so disappointing for my generation.  You'd get to a family friends house (no friend of yours would own one of these, if he did he wasn't your friend), or a relative, or whatever and you'd ask if they had any video games?  They'd bring you downstairs and dust off this POS and you'd be like what the hell is this, how does this work.  Finally get it to the right channel on the TV and start to play these awful games.  They really did suck if you were used to the NES.

I had a friend who had Sega Genesis, that was awesome, although we used to get in arguments about which was better, SNES or Sega.  Pretty much the original video game fan boy argument.

2600 was v good. saul is a retard/mongloid who can't be trusted. the guy mixes slushly flavors for christ sakes. what is he twelve? "hey guys, let's go to 7-11 and all get suicides"-saul

there were obvious good 2600 games like joust, frogger, qbert, dig dug.

and less obvious/weird/nobody has ever heard of good games...
1)some game where there were different colored dragons and a maze of some sort and like three different keys that you had to get or something. if the dragons caught you they would eat you and their stomachs were see-thru, so you could still movearound and see yourself (green square iirc) inside. lmao at that.

2) e.t. was great. you fell into pits and had to make e.t.'s head really long to float him back out. lmao again here.

3)another lmao/weird game was this guy...

Impossible Mission, Summer Games, Summer Games II,  and Jumpman for C64.

Zork I-VII

Decathlon for Atari was fun, but damn if jeffy and I didn't destroy a lot of joysticks playing that.

Saw those 2600's on Antiques Roadshow several years ago.  $250.  They've appreciated!

One of my all time favorite rpg's.

Agreed. Right up there (but still behind) Suikoden (PS1) for me.
108 characters.

 :runaway:

Your castle expanded as you recruited new dudes.

Also: the war battles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9xJbGL82mI&feature=related)!

No North vs. South is also disappointing.

Good game.  Loved the fighting w/ the cavalry, and raiding the trains.

Ummmmmm, what else was there to do?

3)another lmao/weird game was this guy...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stampede_(video_game)

worst atari game of all time-math grand prix.  :frown:

G-M-A-F-B

ET IS widely regarded as the worst video game of all time.  It was rushed by developers under pressure to get the release date to coincide w/ the movie. The game really didn't even work.

But oh ya, 2600 was awesome to get crappy ports of arcade games.  Also awesome to see identical games released under different brandings, gmafb w/ you fan boys 2600 BS.

NES saved the video gaming industry, fact.

Stampede is also on the activision classics game on PSP, btw.

I did like how you changed game modes w/ the toggle switch.

Dear Saul,
You still defend PC gaming.  Your video game cred is nothing.  I will repeat myself just in case you're on ventrillo playing Conan with your guild...You have no video game cred.  No one cares what you or your fish eating friends think about video games.

"Mexico's only runs came on a lucky break in the fourth inning when, with two on and an 0-2 count, Juan hit a ball into the gap that became lodged in a portion of the fence that prevented Hawaii's right fielder from retrieving it. As a result, the outfielder ran in place into the fence for over 20 seconds while Juan rounded the bases."

Dreamcast, like it's predecessor the Sega Saturn, was totally mis-marketed and mismanaged in the USA.  It's like SEGA USA didn't even try.  Tons of "bad ass" titles in Japan, though.

I've got other examples - at one time I had the following systems hooked up to a 27" Curtis Mathis console television, that all functioned:

Atari 2600, NES, SNES (with Gameboy Player) , Sega Genesis w/ 32X, Sega CD (the side by side, not the top on bottom), Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Playstation, Turbografx16.

Kind of a tangled mess of wires thou.

what's crazy is how you remember specific sounds from those old atari games. i mean when the video loaded, the jingle pumped in my head like i was playing it yesterday.

crazy.
