Title: Freeman's comments
Post by: jd1988 on April 26, 2009, 10:24:28 PM
Douchebag?

"I feel like I'm the better quarterback, but they're getting most of the hype," Freeman said, adding that he believes a lot of that has do with the fact that Stafford (Georgia) and Sanchez (USC) played in programs that won more games than he did at Kansas State, which often was overmatched in the Big 12 Conference.

"They're good quarterbacks," Freeman added. "I'm not taking anything away from them. If I had a pick, I'd take myself. ... I have the rest of my career to prove to everybody that I'm the best guy, and I'm looking to do everything within my power to make that so."

What did he say that wasn't accurate?  I think Stafford is better, but I think he could have had similar hype on a USC type team with an actual o-line and with more than one decent target to throw to.

just like any other qb. and the only reason he got drafted is hype.

Hype? Nah, that's got nothin' to do with the draft. Has anyone seen my perscription?

Does Freeman have the work ethic that it takes to be a Pro-Bowl quarterback in the NFL year in/year out. That's one thing I don't remember hearing about Freems when he was at K-State. He obviously has natural talent and body molded to be great at the position. But it never seemed motivation was something that came easily to Josh. Perhaps it was Ron rubbing off on him. But even if that's the case, it could significantly hinder him at the next level.

I think his work ethic is ok but I think it would have done him good to not get drated by Raheem.  He had Ron and Franklin and those guys kissing his ass telling him how good he was for three years at KSU and it did him no good.   Now he goes to the Bucs and he has another head coach that will kiss his ass and tell him how good he is.  HE needs a coach that didnt' know him when he was a 17 year old prospect with all the talent in the world and could care less where he came from and who he's played for in the past.

Q. Did you feel you had to throw the ball a lot at Kansas State?

A. It came down to one point of me trying to do too much. I felt I had to be Superman, having an amazing effort, if we were going to be able to win. It had me playing out of character, and I definitely think it ended up hurting me.

A. It came down to one point of me trying to do too much. I felt I had to be Superman, having an amazing effort, if we were going to be able to win. It had me playing out of character, and I definitely think it ended up hurting me, cause the coach I came to play for was in over his head and couldn't bring in any decent talent like he promised to help me out.  Instead, he sold me on the idea of being Superman by using the promo "Power of One" which was me of course.

You left that part out of his response

Weird how I've never once seen Michael Beasley complain about being the best player for his team or make excuses for his failures or discredit the university he chose to play for or basically just act like a self absorbed, clown d!ck, douchebag to the media.

Wonder why that is?

How many times did you watch Josh Freeman play and say to yourself, "man, he really cares about what's going on out there . . . he really wants to win for good ol K-State.".

Now, I am not powertard enough to delude myself into believing that every guy who puts on a k-state uni is willing to run through a brick wall for good old State.   But come on . . . you all thought, as I did, that most of the time Josh really couldn't give a F_ck as long as he looked good.

Several things...

Is Freemaw the most disliked 1st round QB ever (from his college fans)?

Does Freemaw have one of the worst 1st round QB college resumes ever?

Does Prince realize that Freemaw going to the league and doing well will reflect even worse on his (Prince's) KSU tenure?

Its still amazing that you have a guy who couldn't even manage HM All Big 12 and was a 1st round pick.  Too bad he won't be remembered better, but when you really look at it outside the Texas games and a couple others there is just not a lot to remember.

We're going to be missing him a lot this season when Carson just threw his 5th pick against La-La.

You really think OB will let him throw 5 times a game?

There you go fatty.

Josh is just like his mentor. When they leave MHK they just can't stop with the cheap shots.

And to even think that I have a #1 purple Freeman jersey in my closet from his freshman year.

Don't know, don't care.  You know why?  Because NU is nothing to us.  We are KSU for christ's sake.  You keep obsessing about Freeman.  We'll keep destroying and talking trash to our most bitter rival Texas.  Circle of Life (KSU is on top of the circle where the lion is or whatever)
