Its about money.  K-State gets a nice payday going to the Rose Bowl.  UCLA fans DO NOT TRAVEL, ANYWHERE!  The particularly will not travel to Manhattan.  UCLA is looking to pay  off K-State and get a better payday.  Bill will be more than willing to let this happen.

Not completely sure that we are the school backing out on this. As well, based on 2008 if we lose a non conference game I'll bet it's at Louisiana and not UCLA

we don't need ucla fans to travel to manhattan, the stadium would be filled regardless.  Why not ucla at home?  Bill should stick to his guns and play the game in manhattan, reward the fans with a noncon game worth watching at least once per season-it would be a winnable game. Does anyone know how much $ big 12 teams make per game for being televised?

A quick review of Snyders history and unwillingness to play name schools would argue otherwise.  Dumb ass.

Yeah but he's got a nice record against the almighty skippy. Also we played another team from California and did alright actually we beat cal and USC I don't see us backing out of both games but, one perhaps.

Mangino embraces this strategy. Does that bother you?

Why not keep the Manhattan game... it will get folks to the stadium (and keep them there).

We need an early season draw. And another shot at the Nueweasel. He has to be pissing his pants about playing in this stadium again.

So, it's not surprising that Brian Dohn of the Los Angeles Daily News reports on his blog that the Bruins are considering other scheduling opportunities on the date of the second game of the KSU series on Sept. 4, 2010. The first game between the two schools will be played at the Rose Bowl on Sept. 19.

meanwhile, our SID has said nothing about removing UCLA.

Funny how so many of the comments argue that playing teams who are better than you will make you better.  Is "good/better" measured in anything other than win-loss?

You're so right.  No way would Snyder schedule a Pac-10 team.  And if he did, we would definitely lose both games.  Especially if they had a Heisman candidate at QB.     Dumb ass.

Did Kansas really benefit by going out to Notre Dame and getting sh it stomped by 30+ points in '99?

It was funny tho.

"First I've heard of it," Epps said. "In fact, I've talked recently with my counterpart at Auburn ... I would think, if there was any substance to that, that the guy from Auburn would have been asking me about whether or not we'd be willing to divest UCLA so they could play them, but it never came up in the conversation."
