News flash, Mitch.  The Rose Bowl is just an irrelevant game now that nobody gives a crap about.  How about making it mean something?  I really really hate the idea of a committee deciding who gets to play in the games, though.  Otherwise I'm a fan of the 8-team playoff.  Semifinals would need to be played at home sites, though.

IMO, this will be the generic statement from ALL bowl douches...

"We think a playoff destroys the bowl system," insert bowl game president insert president's name said. "It would change the insert bowl game from something special into a quarterfinal."

yeah... ummm.... the bowl tradition was destroyed when 50 additional bowls were added, 30 of them being after January 1.

Thanks for your comments, bowl people, but no thanks.
