and at the end of the game. ku fails to call timeouts to stop the clock when A&M is on ku's goal line, that would've given ku more time with the ball after the forgone conclusion of A&M scoring ... several times they showed Coach ManBearPig on the sidelines, and every time he was looking at his watch.
Was Coach ManBearPig late for something??
I also noticed that Coach ManBearPig stood no where close to Lew Perkins in any of the pictures of the ground breaking for ku's new football offices (that Glen Mason asked for in 1992).

Mangino definately had some major coaching blunders this week that cost them the game.
I think we really want him to be the head coach at K.U. - I'm pretty sure Lew would go out and actually pay to get a real coach in Lawrence and we don't want that right now in our rebuild years.
-
I enjoyed Mangino blaming the loss on injuries. No other program has to deal with injuries, just ku. And no other coach has to coach around injuries or make hard decisions about injuries except ku. Essentially, he couldn't do his job when it comes to making routine coaching decisions. Oh well, we did give Wooly an extension.

His comments after the game were very Bill Self-like.

"People expected us to blow them out, I’m sure, but that wasn’t going to happen. Guys were hung over, still, from Georgia Tech, the weather outside, and what about our fans.

One of the greatest postgame quotes in history.

Another great one (also after a win, this one over Jim Wooldridge):
I hope people leave here understanding that sometimes other teams play well and sometimes your team is not at full strength, and we weren't close to full strength. You've got David out, you've got Aaron playing on one leg, and you've got Keith who is visibly not feeling well at all. Then JR had an off night by JR's standards. But it was a great win.

Mangino's rambling on 810 this morning about the repetitions they got in practice was great. All of the stuttering was good stuff.
-
Mangino will keep them at about .500 which is what they want to keep fans happy while their bball is playing well.

By the way, anybody seen Jayhox? Probably got a multi-billionaire firm this week.

He won't reappear until:
a) ku wins big
b) KSU loses, ku doesn't get blown out
c) Prince does something wacky

"You can’t take anything away from A&M, because they played great. But coming off Georgia Tech with Kentucky coming up on Sunday, bad weather, guys don’t know how many people are going to show up. This was a sucker game. Not the opponent, but you could catch guys not being focused, thinking about something else. I thought for the most part we just missed shots in the first half, and got impatient and stuff. But it was a good win. We beat them by six last year, we beat them by five this year, and they just match up good with us. We’ll look at it that way."
So, the Insecurehawks need to know how many people will be there to make sure they play well?
