Title: Wichita Wild Football
Post by: KSUbeaver on March 31, 2009, 03:09:38 AM
A couple Cats on this year's team.
#40 Justin Mongomery (Been on the team a couple years)
#8 Byron Garvin (1st year)

At one point Victor Mann had joined the training camp roster but is not listed on the roster now.

They had their first game last Friday.  Lost to the Omaha Beef 41-36.
Garvin had 5 solo, 3 asst, .5 TFL, and a FF
Montgomery had 2 solo, 1 asst, 2.5 TFL, and a sack.

This team should be much improved from last year.  The strength of this team is in its wide receivers and secondary.  The kicking game though is just as bad as it has been the last 4 years (1-3 FGS, 1-4 XPs).  But we do have a nice brand new mini arena(5000+).

A couple former BCS conference players on the team...
Eric Smith (Purdue)
Randy Kelly (Arkansas)
Clinton Soloman (Iowa, Week 1 IFL Player of the Week, 7 catches 146yards 3TD)
Charslton Gray (North Carolina)
Donta Moore (Uconn)
Brian Murph  :yuck: (uk)

Last I heard James Terry was playing on the Omaha/Council Bluffs arena team.  Like, division III arena football.

Easy.  It's because no one cares.

I think 8 man football outside on an 80 yard field, with 15 yard first downs would be fun to watch.

I think it's because, if you listen closely, you can actually hear the player's dreams dying.  (Don't worry, you'll still be able to hear it over the "roar" of the 50 people in attendance.)

Could we please start referring to them as the Park City Wild?  Thanks.

The Wichita Wild of Park City?  At least Park City can now advertise:  Park City, now 100% BTK free!

Too bad El Dorado can't say the same.

Sadly this should one of the better/more exciting years of Wild football. 3years ago we played in the APFL and played our games in an ice rink (minus the ice of course). Made it to the championship but the championship was never scheduled and the Topeka team was given the championship and the owner of the league was never heard from.

2 years ao we were an independent team and were lucky to play any one. Most teams had a minimum amount of players because they had to find there own rides to games.  And we beat every team by 50+

Last year was better. Joined a new league but didn't have the players other teams did.

This year is hopeful and maybe get back to af2 eventually. Its nice having some former ksu players and some more d1 talent.

And "Hell on the Rail" will be in full force on Saturday!

Hell yeah man, been to some of those games last year. Good time, nice to get some beers and see some pads crackin' during the summer time...
