Title: Fun day
Post by: jeffy on March 28, 2009, 05:57:30 PM
I got to play in the snow with my daughter.  We had 12" in Salina.  It was warm enough today that the snow packed real well.

We made a snowman and a snow fort.  It was good being a kid again!

That's a sturdy looking tree there in the background.  Let me guess, suburbs in brand new development?

That tree was planted in 03 (Autumn Purple Ash).  It was a gift commemorating my daughter's birth.  The house is in a section of town that was developed in the late 70s, so all the streets are straight and not all crookedy.

It was about a third that size when it was planted.  It's now got 12" of snow to water it.

The snowman is already suffering from melting.  It's leaning at about a 60 degree angle.  This snow ain't gonna be around long.

Concerning the lump on the top of the snowman's head: Is that some sort of snow tumor, or a hat made out of snowman flesh?

Either way, i appreciate the dark addition to the snowman.  Truly poetic.

She growed since Christmas.  The pink gloves didn't fit anymore, so she had to graduate to the blue ones.

I learned a long time ago that it doesn't pay to be fashionable when trying to stay warm.

And the thing on top of the snowman's head is supposed to be a hat.

Lava rocks..... If they were any kind of poo, they would be cat poo.  The mouth is a piece of broken yardstick.

When I was a kid many years ago, a broken yardstick meant it was broken by Mom spanking my butt.

I had about 6 full yardsticks before I redid my bathroom.  They make great shims behind the sheetrock.  I had to restock on yardsticks at the home show for my next remodeling project.

Yeah, at one of the elementary schools there was a snow drift that went all the way up to the roof. I'm from Pratt.

That's one thing I miss about KS.  The snow and snow drifts.  Hardly get any snow in TX...and when we do it never drifts.

This one was highly unusual.  Maybe happens in the state once every 10 years.
