Title: Odds & Ends With Ross "Gloady" Gload
Post by: pissclams on March 23, 2009, 02:58:38 PM
Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star suggests there's a chance the Royals release first baseman Ross Gload and eat the $1.9MM owed to him in 2009.

Would they keep Shealy then?  Not sure that Shealy > Gload + 1.9mil.

Royals got a bargain unloading that POS for under 2 mil.

I'm more than a little surprised that they ever gave that dude 1.9 mil in the first place.  I assume that was for several years, but it's not like he ever showed anything to make you think he would ever be worth much more than league minimum.

Not once in the history of baseball has there ever been a player named "Later."  There has been an "Early" and a "Sunday" though.
