Royal Valley's Jake Roepke was sitting among a stadium full of Missouri Tigers last Saturday when Kansas State coach Ron Prince asked him to give his best Powercat growl.
Roepke obliged, of course. After all, that's what players do when they commit to Prince.
A 6-foot-7, 300-pound senior, Roepke accepted an offer from K-State last Friday. The following day -- while Roepke was in Columbia, Mo., for the Tigers' game against Colorado -- Prince called to offer congratulations ... and hear the growl.

Please let this be true.
Interesting that his coach doesn't think he's the next Nate Newton:
"Any time you have a 6-7, 300-pound kid with athletic ability, I think you've got to take a chance on him," Royal Valley coach Jason Grider said. "He's got unlimited potential.
"He's going to have to work on his strength and on the mental aspect of the rigors of D-I. It's a big jump for anybody, and he's going to have to bear down and go to work. He's a very likeable kid, and from week two of the season, he's improved leaps and bounds. He's still getting better."

If I was a 5-star linebacker from Florida and was asked to do this, I might decommit.
Be careful Prince.
-
Why the hell does Jason Grider's name sound familiar?
Wonder if he played there in the early 90's.

I think its kind of cool, remember these are 17-18 year old KIDS, its kind of silly but this should be a fun thing.
