Title: Archer calls player only meeting
Post by: McGrowlTowelZac on October 03, 2006, 11:50:28 PM
Echols was reported as saying Archer called a player only meeting at his pad at some point between sunday and today, and around 100 players showed up. Another thing, apparently they were practicing late into the evening, to which Archer said he couldn't see anything, and was just trying to hit anything that moved.

I am excited to hear a senior stepping up and trying to change the direction of this team.  Lets hope this is a good sign.

Or it could be the opposite.

Archer: "Man that &@#%er is really starting to piss me off.  Let's mutiny."

Naaaaa, Archer has a rejuvinated "game" and that is thanks to this new coaching staff.  Besides the interception last year against Mizzou name me one other big play he's been a part of.  Up until this year he was in my eyes a big dissapointment, now he looks like he's playing the way K-State fans always expected him to play.

archer was asked to do damage control by a certain coach.  After this seaason is over though, the floodgates will open and KSU will be in deep deep trouble

100 players don't fit in archer's pad.

Clayton shows up at Vanier with a Geology book and walks into the Academic Center while practice is going on, and Watts is seen leaving practice early.

Per the Wichita Paper.

Nothing will suprise me with this coach anymore.

Other than a Big XII Championship, of course.

Has Watts been doing all that much practicing??

Plus ... if all this is even remotely true, and some of the players are "mad" because they got dressed down.   It's a good thing we didn't have those guys when Brent Venables, Jim Leavitt, Mike Stoops and Bob Stoops were around ...  otherwise we would've had a big pile of sniveling babies on the sidelines of every game.

You just named 3 good to great coaches...they tend to have a little credibility.

Mike Stoops is the calmest, most mild-mannered guy around.

Sincerely,

I am sure when Stoops/Venables/Leavitt  was dressing down a player in front of 50,000 people, calling him names that 5 longshoreman couldn't think up, and using the F word in every conceivable form.  That the guy getting dressed down was thinking ... "yeah, but these guys have so much street cred".

I remember talking to a former player who was around during the time of MS and BV, apparently, MS was not very well liked at all because he did what Prince did on a weekly basis and was like that on and off the field...BV on the otherhand would chew your ass on the field, but off of it he was cool so players respected him entirely more than MS.

Prince hasn't impressed me at all, but what did the current players expect?  They've finished last place in the worst division in football this side of the sun belt.  If T-Gunn wants to quit...fine.  More time for him to work on his bench press and arm curls.  If some of the o-lineman want to quit, fine...they couldn't even block D-1AA defensive lines.

I feel the same way Z ... I don't like to see turmoil in our football program, but by the same token I think Snyder was running out of steam and just didn't have the energy nor the staff to weed out and coach up a bunch of these guys.

If Clayton is going to lay the ball on the field all the time, and get tripped up when somebody grabs his shoestring ... then get him out of there.  If some of those lineman are going to consistently throw air blocks ... then get them out of there.

It appears that some on this team think they should play just because they're there.

I'd almost be surprised by an offensive touchdown.

what really has me concerned is that apparently 100 of our players got together at the same time, off the field, and no one was arrested.
