Title: Rich Eisen runs the 40...
Post by: WavetheWheat on February 26, 2009, 06:02:54 PM
This is unbelievable.  It completely puts in perspective just how fast these guys are...wait until the end of the video and they superimpose him with receivers and lineman....jeesh.

Amen to that.

That video was hilarious.  Even when they gave Eisen a head start against that big dude, he still lost.  That's good stuff.

So true.  The fastest dude always wins.  There's no amount of practice or luck that will ever allow me to outrun Maurice Green.  Can't be done.

what do you think about the decathlon? It seems to me like it would be the ultimate test of athleticism.

My roommate ran a 4.4 when he was in high school.  He's also 5'6, and about 115 lbs.  Would get killed in any professional sport.

BTW, I get this think in the top right of my screen, I think TP wants us to vote Loren Pepperd.  For Manhattan KS City Commission "A Fresh Perspective"

Major difference between "athleticism" and "sport".

Ice skating and gymnastics are "athleticism" . . . but not sports.  I mean who the hell are they competing against?

A good track dude is just competing against his own ability not to trip and fall, or else hoping the dude he knows is faster than him will just trip and fall.  Not a sport.

General rule of thumb: if you can't play defense, it's not a sport.

Anything that involves a certain degree of body movement or athleticism is a sport, game and/or competition. Track or running is probably the most basic sport a human can participate in..was it not the "first" sport/competition ever played?

If you consider outrunning your mates in the African savannah when a cheetah is after you, certainly.

Well in the early years of the Olympics, whom ever won the sprint had the whole entire Olympics named after them for that year. Learned this in my GEOG 300 class.  :woot:

Tennis is more of a sport than most people think.  My rules of thumb are, can you get physically exhausted playing it, and is it possible to quickly go back and fourth with an opponent?  If so, it's probably a sport.  Therefore, golf=LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

This is the truest measure of overall manly prowess yet devised.  I freely confess that I am not yet a champion, but I am training heavily.
