Title: Pre-season fan myths
Post by: chum1 on October 03, 2006, 11:42:55 AM
Does anyone admit that they subscribed to any of these once widely believed myths?

1.  Barring injury, Freeman will redshirt this year (prior to Evrige’s departure)
2.  Barring injury, Freeman will not start this year (subsequent to Evridge’s departure)
3.  Prince will mix some designed QB runs into the offense
4.  Meier’s arm is strong (or strong enough)
5.  KSU has as good a chance as anyone to win the North division

Any more to add?

I believed #5.

1. No
2. No
3. No
4. Had no idea
5. No, just that if they don't go at least 7-5, we're in deep $hit.

#4 is the biggest lie the world has ever known.

I still believe #5.

Even bigger than the Holocaust?

Didn't witness that one, tough for me to say.

On a related note, I think after listening to the Baylor game called by Wyatt I have heard the sound of a partial birth abortion.

I think Dylan's arm was surgically reconstructed with dead fetus parts.

I subscribed to none of them.  Hence, the following statements made by myself in July and August:

Quote
Bslimz and Rusty......

Why are you both such negative Nancy's when it comes to our football program ??

Why are you and so many others having pie-in-the-sky fantasies about an 8-4 season with a new head coach with no previous HC experience who is inheriting a team that couldn't break .500 under one of the greatest football minds of all time?  Being a realist doesn't make one a "Negative Nancy."  No need to start namecalling those of us who aren't bathing in the showers of purple koolaid that are washing around GPC.com and ksf.com.

4-8
2-6

(BTW, fatty, I note with some depression that my posting style is becoming more and more like yours.)

6)  That our Prince wouldn't turn out a frog.  Or Pauper.

Just trying to claim it before Posnaski does.

Not trying to single out MJ.  I think this is representative of what was the majority opinion.

Certainly, Meier will be the guy to beat if he's healthy.   He throws a nice crisp ball and is very accurate.

Evridge will be next followed most likely by Lopina/Webb and then Freeman.

Freeman will redshirt.

i said that the recruiting class would gain as many stars as they would lose.  i also thought we would lose a few of our better players.  so far woods looks like a baller and hartman has some potential
