Cause I'm having problems, yo. I'm trying to get on the server and I keep getting a "connection reset" message. So then I turn off my firewall and all of my security settings (send me hate mail and viruses at [email protected] (http://[email protected]) ) and now it says the connection to the server is timing out. Everyone else I know who is getting on the server says that they're fine, and I tried other computers in my house so I think it might have something to do with my router...?

It's how I download some airchecks at the place I work at, I need to send the files to someone so I can go up to Austin and drink. I've spent like an hour trying to play computer nerd and figure out wtf I'm doing and I apparently suck anyway (but we all knew that).

hmmmm....I've only used one FTP and it was this one. I wish I could help you. What FTP software do you use? (ps. I sucka t computers)

Well, normally you can just follow a link from the company website, type in your username and password and get onto the server. The browsers it accepts are Firefox and IE, I've tried both. I also tried using an FTP add-on for firefox (FireFTP) and this ancient "WS FTP LE 95" software (yeah, it's for Windows 95), nothing works. I keep getting the same error messages on all of them.

You are running the god damn thing out of oil.
-
It may not let you in if you are outside the local network at your office without a VPN (virtual private network) connection.
-
It might be related to active/passive settings. See if you can find something to change it to passive and then try and reconnect.
-
lol try using the command line instead of your browser
-
Try pinging the server to see if the FTP is actually online.

lol try using the command line instead of your browser
Do you mean like use an application instead of a browser? Cause I tried that.
@ dr00d: I switched from passive to active, and it didn't do anything.
