 at everyone who thought this guy was ever going to be good.

He could have been very helpful this year.  Imagine if he'd had his head on right, went to class, played with Beaz and worked out with Scott G. for a third consecutive year.  He'd be a very big, strong guy who could grab a few rebounds and would give us an extra fouls at the 5.

Ye, he had a dustbin for a brain, but he wasn't recruited for Algebra.

How does anyone, and I mean anyone, who is 7'2" put up that kind of stat line?  Plus, dude only played 9 minutes, WTF is that all about?

Sweet, turns out he's actually 7'3", and an even bigger pussy than I had originally thought.

I saw the guy at the first scrimmage they had at the Bram before a football game leading into the Thuggs season.  It was pretty obvious the guy had very little basketball skills at the time, and apparently it hasn't changed.  I'm not sure what the Fat Man saw in him.

Dude played some pretty big time AAU ball, so you know Rivals and Scout saw quite a bit of him.  How did everyone miss so horribly?  Not only those dudes, but Huggs saw him a ton, and so did Auburn and all the other teams that were recruiting him. And it's not like he just ended up being a decent or mediocre player, he can barely get any playing time for freaking University of Detroit, a school I wasn't even aware existed until he signed with them.

a few gratuitous "sys is a genius" quotes.  has really been gratifying to be so correct when all other ksufans were so wrong.

Quote
bennett just isn't that good.  he is considerably slower and less athletic than hughes, doesn't have much of an offensive game, and has that puzzled look about him half the time that i hate to see in bigs.  if he came, i would almost guarantee he would sit behind kw, hughes AND afeli his first year.  he might develop in time, but again if huggins is worth hiring he should be able to recruit a better player in '07 anyway.

Quote
to start with, none of the '05 guys listed with him are really that impressive.  bennett is a tall gangly kid with absolutely no offense.  he would provide something of a defensive presence, but i would be shocked if he had any more impact as a freshman than guys like kaun and maric.

A lot of Chenowith in that boy (although that would be a compliment to Bennett).

....I wonder how Bennett feels about Dave Matthew's Band....

he could defend from what I remember. Has the block record for single game and made a run out the KSU season record.

A turd other than that. No moves, didn't have an agility.

I never thought the guy would be all league or anything, but I thought he'd at least be able to equal or better the numbers put up by Lou.

He's 7-for-22 when trying to outscore his foul count.

How many 7'2" AAU players are there really?  And how much defense do they play in AAU???  Not hard to be a 5 star when you are 7'2".

I would imagine that the recruiting services take that into account when they rank the players.  Not every dude over 6'10" is automatically a 4 or 5 star guy just because they are taller than everyone.

I use to sit by his mom and dad at the games. His dad would get mad cause he didn't get playing time from Bob. He then tried to compare Jason to Joakim Noah.

At least we know where Bennett got his intelligence from.  And probably his reefer habit too.

Means quite a bit.  Like, a really big amount.
