Erker should start over Watts.  He's younger.  &@#% it, let's put in all the freshman.

Might as well just run a single wing.

We wouldn't be bold and daring if we didn't run the latest fad offense.

I'll say this, it wasn't Freeman's fault Figurs fumbled inside the 10.  Also got a completion to Moreria down to around the 20.  Of course, the 22 passes he missed on is a concern.

There is no reason to even debate this issue.  It's like arguing over who gets to lead the band on the deck of the Titanic.

Thanks Barry, one needs something to laugh about after that one.

Our entire offense is suspect.

Our O-Line cannot open holes for the running game.

Our QB's seem to have problems getting momentum and moving the ball consistently.  There seems to be no fire or desire to move the ball down the field.

And when they did.. turnovers.  It's like, when KSU had the football, getting it past the Baylor 10 yard line made the ball susceptible to changing hands.

That's not good.  We cannot rely on special teams and the defense if the offense cannot score.

And our special teams outside those early returns for TDs haven't been stellar.  How many blocks in the back today on punt returns?  And a big return set up Baylor's 2nd score.

Playing players because they "are the future" instead of playing players because they "are the best we have" is a huge mistake.

is meier really that much better?  by playing freeman are we going to lose a game we would win with meier playing?

He grew tall and can throw the ball really hard and really far.  He is taller than Joe Montana and he can throw the ball farther, thus, he is better.

Sarcasm is a difficult concept.

I'll take a stab...

It seems obvious to me that Meier is not the same QB he was before his injury.  Yeah, he doesn't have Sproles like he did the first time around and he's in a diffferent system, but his completion percentage is a surprise to me.  I just don't think he can throw with the accuracy we need him to for us to be successful right now and he doesn't have any ability to stretch the field vertically from what we've seen.

By default then, you are left with Freeman.  Our current #3 is currently playinone of our starting TEs.  Our real #3 is still recovering from an injury.  By process of elimination Freeman has "earned" the spot.

No.  He is not much better.  But he is better.

How can you say whether or not it will cost us a game?  That's a hard question.  I can say that we would have lost to Marshall last year if Marcus Watts would not have been on the field, but I can't tell you if starting Erker ahead of Watts would cost us any games this year.

We have lost two games this year and Meier got pulled in both.  Who knows if he could have led a comeback?  But if he had been pulled against Illinois State I seriously doubt we would have won that game.

If you get to choose to play for a coach, do you want the coach who says:

"I don't give a @#%$ where you come from or how fast you can run 40 yards.  I am going to play the guy who is the best at his position."

or:

"I have decided that this guy is our future, so I am going to play him"

I am glad that Mr. Evridge got out of here before he burned another year of eligibility.  He was obviously correct when he decided that he really didn't have a chance to play.

Welcome to the West Coast offense when run in college.

Freeman announced as the starter for next week.

Thank god.  Dylan has no excuse to be pathetic.  Freeman does, for now.

this is how bad it is, during the ku game, i was actually jealous of ku for having adam barrman! adam freakin barrman!!

We have to take our lumps with Freeman, he has more talent, the only thing he doesn't have is experience.  Give it to him, we just lost to Baylor, I can't imagine it can get much worse...right?

adam barrman!! :poundon:

Just got back from the game.

If we had any semblance of a running game, I'd want to start Meier.  Physically he can't do all the things you want your quarterback to do, but he plays smart.

Freeman threw 3 or 4 balls that didn't get picked off that could/should have in addition to the interceptions he did throw.  The interception into the end zone was absolutely brutal.  He also didn't see open receivers, including once when we quick snapped Baylor and we had guys running absolutely free early in the play, only to get covered before Freeman looked their way late.

But he does have a big arm, and frankly, it seems the only way this offense is going to score, is if we manage to hit a deep ball.  Freeman obviously is much better equipped for that.  I hadn't seen him in person before, he's a pretty impresive presence out there.

That was just a nauseating offensive performance tonight. Either way we go at QB, we've got our work cut out for us.:yuck:

He's the starter for the "foreseeable future".

I'm going to assume that it's because we don't have any Deep threat with Meier in the game..  With all the short TE passes we're completing, Defenses can afford to leave 7-8 in the box. Which is also why we don't have a running game.  Freeman although not as expereinced as Meier and not as accurate and sometimes throws into double and triple coverage... he can throw it really far.  Defense's will eventually respect the deep ball after getting burned for a couple 40 yard passes and the running game will open up.   :koolaid:

Oh... I would say that if we go to larryville and take a pounding that could be considered "much worse".
