I'm gonna go with the running game.

Running game opens up the passing game. They knew we couldn't run it, so they were able to put pressure on the QB and defend the pass.

Note:

Not in any way trying to make positive comments about the passing game as it shouldn't have been that ugly regardless of the running.

More food for thought...  

1-AA Northwestern State - 39 rushes for 147 yards vs Baylor.  

No other 1-A opponent had thrown for less than 65% against Baylor.

Running game, Passing game, Turnover, Penalties.....we're pretty much fuqed on all accounts on that side of the ball.
