He was complete crap after he signed that 5 year, 55 million dollar deal.  Look up the stats.  He went completely and totally downhill after signing the fat contract.

Not totally true. From 2003-2005(first three seasons under the 5 for 55) he hovered around 20hr, 80rbi, and a .290 ba.
