Quit following us around little brother.
The University of Kansas and Kansas State University will cooperate in attaining National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center designation for the University of Kansas Cancer Center, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius announced Tuesday.
Chancellor Robert Hemenway and Kansas State President John Wefald signed a memorandum of understanding, committing the two universities to cooperate on cancer research.
The ku Cancer Center is on schedule to gain NCI designation in September 2011. Upon receiving the designation, the center will be able to conduct clinical trials on new cancer treatments.
Hemenway compared Tuesday’s announcement to the state’s effort in attaining the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) in Manhattan.
“What is reflected here today is the ability of universities to join their talents to save people’s lives,” Hemenway said.

Another example of how ku is not our rival.

Memoradum of understanding?
I can see this getting ugly. Fights breaking out getting cancer stuff spilled because willie keeps kicking baby jay in the nads. (can we get an emicon of that). You don't see us begging for help on our bio defense center or what ever it's called.

Our officials are just trying to make you feel good about yourselves, build up your self-esteem.
Sorta like when your parents put the pull-up crappers on you to trick you into thinking you were all mature and stuff.

science and ku? LOL. stick to teaching grammar.

This is going to be a disaster. Who builds a cancer center right in the middle of where people live? What if the cancer gets out?

OT, was at Emory University in Atlanta for a conference a while back and discovered on the ride from Hartsford Intl. that it is right next to the CDC. Had nightmares about the book The Stand all week :runaway:

K-State gets Olathe to give them pretty much whatever K-State wants for the new K-State campus, then K-State gets the state to throw in a bunch of money . . . ku goes to Topeka and whines about it, and wants money from the state, and wants the state to let ku be a part of it as well.
K-State gets the NBAF and millions from the State. ku goes to the state and whines and wants a cancer center.
Christ . . . what a pissant school ku is.

if you are good in math, science or anything that actually matters you go to KSU for undergrad. the med center isn't really ku's. it serves the state.
