Up for Best Picture are:
- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
- Frost/Nixon
- Milk :ku:
- The Reader
- Slumdog Millionaire
I've only seen Button and Slumdog. Button was good. Slumdog was very, very average. I have no idea why this movie is generating so much buzz.
-
Frost Nixon was really good.
Button looked retarded (didn't see it)
-
Want to see Milk. Penn is a rediculously good actor.
-
Weak year for movies it seems.
Guess that writer's strike is starting to show a bit.

Anyways, Button is the only one on the list I liked. Slumdog and Milk were very mediocre/TBS quality. Didn't even care to see the others.

OK, so Slumcrap only got 9 nominations, two of which are for best song (???), and none of which are for any of the actor/actress categories. Looks like Button has to be the favorite with 13 nominations.

Want to see Milk. Penn is a rediculously good actor.
Watch the documentary on Milk first, the Times of Harvey Milk. It's world class.
-
Want to see Milk. Penn is a rediculously good actor.
I agree, too bad he's such a seditious a$$.

You'd be a lot happier if you just let politics go sometimes. Just imo obv.

What a horrible year for movies.

Probably right. I'm not big on celebs that can't do the same, so I should take note.

I really liked Slumdog, and think it would be a worthwhile Best Picture. Haven't seen the others, but since it seems like BB is the next most likely winner I'll probably see it soon. I just dunno if i can sit for almost 3 hours unless it's a movie about midgets or sinking ships.

The writer's strike will really start to show this year. So many movies were rushed or delayed to be rewritten.
The writer's strike already began to show with that abortion of a Bond film Rectum of Solace. I was so disappointed. Casino Royale was like picking up Eva Green in a bar and going home with her, and Quantum of Solace waking like waking up to discover she's really Judi Dench. Hey, I like Judi but you wouldn't catch me boinking her.

I like that Catmatt underlines the movie names like you're supposed to. I mean, I'm not gonna do it but I like it when other do it, you know?

Catmatt is a master of font styles, along with being a righteous dude!!

Wouldn't it be better w/ italics?

Underlining gives it that cool hand written essay feel.
