Title: Your team would be fine, if...
Post by: delusionliveshere on January 22, 2009, 09:57:56 AM
...the fans actually showed up and supported their team.  There's nothing worse than playing in front of empty seats.  The endzone shots last night were embarrassing.

I thought that it was a clever move building suites in AFHW.  Obviously, they were trying to take up space to make AFHW look deceivingly full.  Even that hasn't helped.

It is sad to see the lack of fan support at KSU.  Pathetic.

For the few that did show up:

1.  Horrible energy
2.  The guy's in dress shirts/ties = retarded.  Were you getting hazed last night?  If so, KSU fraternity life = losers.

Bad game, Cat's.  Try to represent the State of Kansas a little better next time you get an opportunity to showcase your school on ESPN2.

Couldn't agree more. Didn't watch the game last night since I had better things to do with my life than watch the team and our fans embarass the university, but I'm sure it was pathetic to watch. :blindfold:

9386 for a midweek game with an 0-3 league start, especially after getting pounded by Nebraska, is actually exceptional.  And when you score <10 over the first 10 minutes and are pretty much down by double digits the whole game, no fan base is going to get into it.  Finally, we have never had and never will have a "great fan base" and very few mediocre basketball programs do.

There's nothing like getting lectured about fan support from a ku fan.

The same school that repeatedly over the decades has had 10,000 plus empty seats for decent to good ku football teams playing big games at home, the same school that averaged less than 9,000 (meaning 7,000 empty seats) a game after just two years of mediocre basketball.

I was at the game, and it was fine, there was plenty of energy for a lot of the game.

You can't always get a feel for the crowd on TV........well except when you watch ku at home and their games practically put me to sleep with their boring fans

AFH is no different in person.  Except the speaker system that they only play twice the whole game (before tip off of both halves) - it is like going to church

Yes.  Allen Fieldhouse sucks.

I do wish those "blue hairs" and corporate executives would stop demanding such good seats through their philanthropy.   If only we were able to move our students to the prime seating, ala ksu wildcats.

The "'Gon" will be especially poor once a decent team is fielded and people start demanding good seats for $$.

ku football does not = ksu wildcat basketball.  With the suites, all you needed to do was round up a brigade or two from Riley and it would have looked full.  What does it hold now, 9,500?  Keep in mind, those viewing at home will assume that the suites are full.

Right.  Until Sept of last season ku football attendance was far worse than even the bad Asury years.  Good clarification.

It holds 12,500.

Plus, my post had nothing to do with a particular sport and have everything to do with the concept of a ku "fan" lecturing anyone else about attendance.

How many of the 12,500 are made up by the suites?

The capacity prior to the addition of the suites was 13,500.

Wow.  They did a good job of maintaining space.

I do like the look of AFHW on TV.  Just hate to see empty aluminum bleachers.  :crybaby:
