Title: Unofficial Super Bowl XLIII Thread
Post by: Oklahoma_Cat on January 18, 2009, 10:41:08 PM
Steelers - Cardinals

Steelers win big, not even close, over by halftime.  Depending on the halftime performer (?), ratings will tank either before halftime or right after.

Opcat puts a cold barrel to his temple and ends his suffering after a black coach wins the superbowl.

Refs will make sure Pittsburgh wins this one easily, just like a few years back vs Seattle.

Uh.....If you're going to plagiarize, I'll give you a second to look that up, could you be at least a little less obvious?

GTFO of my thread.  We're discussing the "unofficial" aspects of the game, like tv sizes and what-not.

Go be a whiny bitch somewhere else, asap.

Did Tony Dungy not count a few years back.  He is rather light skinned but he still qualifies, no?

I'd think you could have gotten that right especially when there were TWO, count 'em TWO, black head coaches in that game.

:ku:

I wasn't implying that he was wrong.  Simply that Opcat is still around even after Dungy won it.  So we're probably SOL this time too.

Yeah, I wasn't implying that he'd be the first negro coach to win.  Just using opcat because I didn't know of him the last time around.

This thread is way more exciting than the "official" one.  Don't forget to chat about the game here, also.  TIA.

Love the Cards.  The kurt Warner comeback story is heartwarming.  OTOH if Mike Tomlin and the Steelers win, it will prove that racism is dead and that blacks and whites are equal.  Compelling stuff.

No way Cards can Contain Carolina's running game.

No way Cards can contain Westbrooke, McNabb and the Eagles blitz.

Not that it probably would have mattered, but that was bogus.  Warner's arm was going forward with the ball.  Perfect end to a pretty crappy year for NFL ref's, imo.

Seems silly that in the biggest game of the year, they don't take 2 minutes to watch the replay.

They do if it would have benefited the Steelers.

That black and white team is sure hard to beat, too bad they were hell bent on a Steeler win.  What a farce.
Title: Re: Unofficial Super Bowl XLIII Thread

That seems a little extreme.  From this outsider's point of view, it was fine, other than the last call...but changes are it wasn't going to matter, anyway.  People try too hard to make a conspiracy theory out of these things.

Also, his wife actually looks pretty decent now that she has stopped sporting that dike 'do.  She used to freak me out, now I think I might poke her after a few beers.

word is KW wants $18Mil for 2 years to come back....

Considering the number of awful QBs out there right now I think he'll get a deal somewhere.

Maybe I missed something when I wasn't paying attention, but did we really get a Super Bowl postgame w/o someone thanking God/Jesus or even a "I'm going to Disneyland!"?  (besides Springsteen, and I dont give a crap what he's doing)

They said they did. Sure seems like it was quick for them to have done it. They got the call right though so I won't complain.

If you took a picture of my right foot right now, you'd see it's off the ground.

If you took a picture of it just a split second earlier, you'd see it was on the ground.

Video works a little better for instant replay.

No need to focus on that play, just focus on the clip before half, that's the difference in the game, NFL show on ESPN showed it over and over and over and over.
