Title: Begging for help
Post by: pufizzle on January 06, 2009, 04:16:14 PM
Any advice would be greatly appreciated on this serious subject matter....

I have the world's sweatiest pits.  It doesn't matter what I do.  I have tried almost every deodorant there is.  30 minutes after I get to work, I have large wet spots under both arms.  It's not even hot.  I don't know what to do but it is quite possibly the worst thing EVER.  My whole day is spent thinking about it.  "Don't reach for that, don't shake hands, don't stretch, don't pick that up"  Why is God cursing me?  Any suggestions???

Have you tried Certain Dry?  Cured me instantly.  Not the healthiest solution 'cause it basically clogs your pores so that they basically don't have the option to sweat.

Environmentally conscious ones just tape baggies under each pit and collect the run-off during the day.  Once home, baggie contents can be used to water house plants or for soup stock.

there are surgical treatments that can help, you should talk to your general physician

Ditch the steroids.

No seriously, it's kind of weird how that stuff is genetic.  I had a friend we named "Slimer" because no one wanted to guard him in basketball.  On the other hand I climbed a mountain in the Austrian Alps with some friends and by the time we got to the top they were all pouring sweat and had ripped off their sodden T-shirts.  My shirt was dry and my temples were kind of shiny so they accused me of being an alien.

I know someone who had that problem though, and I think they got some medication from the doctor.  Not only that, but it kept working after they stopped taking it.  I'm sure everybody is different though.

I used that for a year or two and don't have the problem any more.  can irritate with deoderant(?) though.

I'm tempted by this Certain Dri phenomenon.  But I have gotten rashes on my pits before and let me tell you, it was horrid.  Do you think it would help if I trimmed my pit hair really short?

I need to invent a t-shirt that has leak proof diaper lining where the pits are.  Seriously, why the F has that not been invented yet?

I sweat at an abnormally high rate too. I've experimented with several deoderants and found Mitchum works the best.

Hyperhydrosis.

you can get a perscription for the stuff from your doctor.

Sucks, but you just gotta keep trying different stuff.  :fiesta:

Certain Dri works.  You just have to be sure to put it on right before bed.  Won't work as well if you put it on in the morning.  It needs time to absorb into you skin, before you start sweating.  And yeah, if you put too much on, it itches like &@#%.  And the roller-ball thing tends to rip out yer hair.  ouch.

In a pinch, I use Mitchum Smart Solid.  Does a pretty good job.  Feels a little weird though, kinda gummy.

I tried both Degree Clinical Protection and Gillette Clinical Strength, didn't work as well.

baking soda?  A little messy but gets pretty dry.

Either that or duct tape some tampons in there.

Just slap one under each arm and if anyone notices slap a couple on your shoulders for the Frank Martin look.

Maybe instead of thinking this is some kind of curse you can use it to your advantage?  Try calling Arrid to see if they need (real) actors for their next "raise your hand campaign."  :dunno: (ftp://:dunno:) Also, might be a "fresh" idea to a new reality show?  :whistle1: (ftp://:whistle1:) I'm a glass is half full kind of person.

Also have this problem;  I just trim the arm hair with a #1 blade on a trimmer.... leaving really short hair. Do not, I reapeat... DO NOT shave completely, you will &@#%ing regret it.   Also, very important, wear undershirts.   Not wife beaters, but actual t-shirts under your shirt that cover your pits.   It will absorb all the sweat and not show through as much.   I stopped doing deodorant with Anti-persperant, because It would work for a couple of hours, and then it would be like the hoover damn broke.... Then there would be a constant stream of sweat running down my sides I crap you not.

BTW, I'm not fat.

You really should see your doctor. Sounds like it may be a bacterial or fungal infection.
