My fav. is the kind that I only see around Christmas-time.  The "fancy" oreo, if you will.  Oreos completely engulfed in a white covering.  Mmm, fancy!

I'll be very upfront and honest when I admit that I had no idea so many Oreo varieties existed. Pretty sure that the banana one is the suck though. Banana flavored treats are horrible.

as much as I'd like to love those white chocolate covered oreos, they're just "ok" to "great", but not unreal.
an example of an unreal oreo would be the other Christmas time offering they make, the peppermint cream oreos.  unbelievable how good those bastards are, the Wal Mart near my office sold them for a short time.

love those too, great to combo these with regular ones in milk.

I don't know if these are still around because I haven't looked for them in a long time, but there was an Oreo that had a coating of either fudge or chocolate.

Since I'm a dunker, what I would do with these is bite off part of the coating, then place it in a glass of milk.  With the chocolate/fudge watertight seal now compromised, the Oreo would quickly sink to the bottom of the glass and take with it the perfect amount of milk.

Cakesters suck royally.  I've never had anything good from Oreo besides the original and double stuff.

I think I will add eating an entire package of oreos at once to what I like to call my "CAN LIST."

Clams- Do you only eat your oreos w/ milk? I bet you do. Also, what kind of milk (1% , 2% , Vit D)? Also, do you dunk the whole oreo and hope it doesn't fall apart when you pull it out of the milk w/ half of the oreo falling into the milk or do you just dunk half an 'o at a time. TIA!

well I'm glad you asked.  i use 1% milk.  always.
i load one of the three columns of 'reos from the bag into a good sized cup and fill it up with milk.  then the waiting game begins.  it's hard for me to wait.  i give them plenty of time to get softened up by the milk (approx 4 minutes, but BE CAREFUL, you don't want to oversoak).  then let the chow fest begin.

OT:  anyone else impressed beyond belief by their new package design that lets you just seal the original packaging back up?  it's like they invented an incredible invention like the cotton gin all over again.

anyone ever tried eating oreos without milk....they are terrible. personally the way I eat my oreos are the normal dipping and letting them soak for a while but towards the end I will leave one oreo on the bottom of the cup that way I can drink it in. :lick:

Does this really work? My brain tells me that the oreos would start to float and empty out over the edge of the cup as you're filling it w/ the 1% ( good call btw).

What is everyones feelings about slightly stale oreos? You know when they go from crunchy to kind of chewy. Like 'em that way too.

Oreo fan here.  And mostly prefer the original to double stuff.  Too much cream drowns out the burnt chocolatey flavor of the cookie wafers.  Haven't had many of the other varieties.  And def. good as dunkers, especially milk, but once in a while in some coffee.

Quality thread, btw.

My econ teacher in high school used to demonstrate the law of diminishing returns using oreos.  He'd bring in several packages and let people eat as many as they wanted until they weren't getting the same taste/happiness/satisfaction utility out of them.  He only did it in the regular econ classes, not the AP one I was in, so I never got to see what my point of diminishing return was.  Guessing at that time about half a package.  :-X

People actually choose 1% over 2% on purpose?  I thought you only drank 1% if your wife/doctor/girlfriend/mom forced you to.  Or if you went to a grocery store that you don't normally go to and the 1% from the new grocery has the same color cap as the 2% from your old grocery store.  Then you get home and realize you accidentally bought disgusting milk.   :curse:

My wife always buys about 6 boxes of these.... 3 to eat during the Christmas season and 3 to put in the freezer to save for summer.  She definitely agrees with you!

I like Oreos a little less than I used to.  The cookies break and crumble like crazy.  Nabisco removed all the transfats from the recipe and now the cookies just don't stay together.
