How can Osage City be near big enough to warrant an opinion?  Moreover, how is it that you find ANY occasion to drive through it?  It isn't on any major road.  Are you a meth dealor?

Osage City, is probably the best town in this state. If K-31 isnt major enough for you, I dont know what is.  As far as the meth, you may be right, there are alot of meth heads there.

Osage City has a pizza hut and a sonic.  Not sad.

The saddest town in Kansas is Concordia.  It's like another planet.  I would kill myself if I had to spend a week there. Pizza hut and sonic be damned.

Sonic has a fracking dollar menu now.  A-mazing.  Way better than any other fast food place.

Ogden.  So full of despair, you can sense it.

Runner-up: Horton

Honorable mention: Pauline, Westmoreland

Is Horton a real place?  The first couple times it was mentioned I thought people were misspelling Holton.  But now it seems that may not be the case.

Horton is Holton's ugly step sister (if posssible...LOL). Located smack dab in between Holton and Hiawatha. Just you average small, crappy, dying Kansas town.

I probably went there about 50 times.  (Birth - 6th Grade)  Wasn't really worth it until you could swim the length.  I love that you had to earn your way into the "Deep" end.  High Dive was fun!  Floating Baby Ruth bars....not so much.

Never made the deep end, they wouldn't even let you sit poolside at the deep end if you couldn't swim the length and of course that's where the hottest lifeguards always were. :curse:  Lets meet back and cruise the park on Sunday.

Very small PPM of pee compared to normal size pool.

Good Point about the PPM of the Pee.  I remember at the end of the swimming season they let the Elephants from the zoo bathe in the pool before draining.  Looked like they had fun.

A (very) few bright spots aside the whole state of Kansas is really pretty sad.  Only lifers don't recognize this fact.

Right, until they move to a coast and are shelling out $600,000 for a craphole.

Kansas is pretty okay then.

Ah. I thought you might be from there. My wife grew up in Jetmore. I've never been there but her description of the town is similar to yours.
