Title: A Look at Centenary
Post by: catsfan20052006 on December 18, 2008, 05:54:09 PM
The Gents are 2-9 (0-2 in the Summit League) with wins over Troy and Alcorn State and losses at Mississippi State, at Baylor, at Wichita State, at LSU and at Louisiana Tech. The Gents return 3 starters off of a team that went 10-21 (4-14 in the Summit League) in 2007-08.

The Gents are lead by G's Nick Stallings, Chase Adams and Gary 'G' Redus II. Stallings averages 17 points/game (leads the team), 7 rebounds/game (leads the team) and 2 assists/game. Adams averages 14 points/game, 5 rebounds/game and 5 assists/game (leads the team). Redus II averages 11 points/game, 2 rebounds/game and 1 assist/game.

This team is athletic but not big and they'll want to push the pace. All that being said, I'll keep this short and sweet, this team still hasn't had a winning season since 2003-04 and I expect the Cats to roll BIG in this one. With games against Centenary, Wagner, Idaho State and Chicago State before we open Big XII play with Oklahoma and at Kansas now is the perfect time for the Cats to get rolling and feel good about themselves heading into 2009.

I'm spoiled already. I want to roll up triple digits on these chumps. I'm hoping the team avoids the winter break slump with about 50 yawning students in the stands.

Centenary?  More like, "I went to a Ben Folds concert in the Centenary B-Ball arena last year, which by the way happens to look like Epcot/a golf ball, and also I might be driving through Shreveport again tomorrow but maybe not if I decide to go stay with Rumor Mill in Houston instead."

In the 90s Centenary beat Arkansas on the gridiron.  So you never know about these guys.  They are due.

Yea, great idea by our Athletic Dept. Why the hell weren't we doing this during the Wooly era? Or, was I just too stoned to remember that we did?

Man, when are people going to realize Pat Knight is the absolute worst coach in this conference?  Recruiting nothing but white kids in the game today is gonna get you fired real soon.
I feel bad for TTech, i really do.  They f'd by bringing in that human pile of cancer (bob knight) now they are stuck with his retarded simpleton son.

But then again, nobody cares about bball anyways in f'n Lubbock Texas.

'

we owe them so bad for our loss in Lubbock last year. That one guard poured in 30 plus on us in a fluke fireworks display that I can only explain as the worst luck in Big 12 sports history. That, and the refs took over once we started to rally. Not just calls against us btw. ....but took over entirely.

I hope we roll it up on Pat.

Centenary's Gary "G" Redus is the son of ... Gary Redus, who's 1978 .462 batting average in the Pioneer League with Billings, with 17 home runs and 62 RBI in just 253 at-bats, is an all-time professional league record.

Guess that's why they call him Gary Redus II.

Pat Knight recruits like his dad - to their system. Can Pat get the same from players - that are never McDonald's All American types - as his Dad did? Doubtful. My point is that Tech doesn't pretend to go after top dudes - T. Evans, B-Eazy, even guys like Dom Sutton. Instead, they go after players for their system - motion offense using players who are generally fundamental players (if not they don't see the floor). I'm not sure Pat Knight is any worse than Mike Anderson or Scott Drew...
