so hard to know, all but mu (and to a much lesser extent ksu) have looked so horrible. definitely competitive though.
-
i think they are better than the "trio"
they have texas players, so i give them the nod by default.
-
btw, have you begun your assault on ouhoops.com?
would like to make an appy there soon.

If the "trio" consists of ISU, NU, & CU. Then yes, that would seem about right.
TT is just a little below us & MU.
-
i'd have to say, better than cu and isu, and = to nu. their record is really just like nu's with a few decent wins at home and some bad road losses. maybe just below ksu, but really, that's just being kind to ksu (ksu's done nothing).
mu is way above the other nortards. they've got a great noncon cv.

interesting how you completely ignore the kenpom's.

no it isn't. kenpom after 9-10 games is way too dependent on one huge win (gwebb for ksu) and mov in general. if you look at all the other nortards vs tech, my ratings = kenpom's. i only discard ksu.

LOL @ TTech playing all these garbage teams on the road
-
LOL @ UTEP running Tech out of their gym last night. Face it Kenpom elitists, Tech blowz... :blank:

kenpom needs to drop outliers or do something to reduce the impact of outliers on its numbers especially earlier in the season w/ low sample size. wuin't spect you 2 understand.

When the sample size is very small, how is he supposed to be able to reliably determine outliers? :dunno:
-
there are small sample size models that can be used i think.
-
so you're saying kenpom's sh*t sucks. glad we're all on the same page here. :flush:
-
kenpom isn't that far off. The only team that prob should be ranked higher than them right now in the league is aTm, but they've played their usual dreadful schedule. ISU and CU have done nothing to be rated higher than Tech right now.

There really is no good rigorous way to do this with a sample size of 9 or 10. And really, even with very large data sets, removing outliers is tricky and can lead to as many problems as keeping them in.

that's pretty much my point too. kenpom is really good when given an ample sample size
^^LMAO

Why would you discard gwebb for KSU and not APB for MU?

Saw him being interviewed. Huge nerd and not one of those cool nerds who go on to be the front man of Weezer or host Late Night with Conan O'brien. More like one of those nerds who suck.

Of the Nortards (including ku) and T-Tech, only ISU has a consistency rank in the top half.
However, K-State is the most inconsistent by a fair margin.
-
Why would you discard gwebb for KSU and not APB for MU?
because ksu is 3-3 against teams in the top 200. mu is 5-1.

that would probably be the difference between 10th and 21st. IMO

both are overrated in the kenpoms. ksu just more so. mu around 20 and ksu around 50 feels approx correct to me.

Exactly, a 3win f'n UTEP team destroyed a white, scratch that, very white Tech team.
Pat Knight will be fired at the end of the 2010 season, bank on it.
Just out of curiousity, who was the last college bball team to win a title with predominantly white kids only on the team?
Duke late 90's?
I know the Knight family is not big on coloreds, but come on, its like they only recruit at small farm town high schools in western kansas.
And I believe Pat Knight has a mild form of downs syndrome.
