Post by: slucat on December 15, 2008, 10:09:35 PM
Are there royalties to be paid when March Madness, Final Four and Super Bowl are said??

Yeah, that's why they always refer to the SB as "the big game" or the "NFL Championship Game" in commercials.

Fracking stupid.

I think it's total crap that whoever "coined" the terms or copyrighted the words feel they should profit from such a thing.  I know that I've put three or more words together in such a way that warrant repeating (You can't shine a turd), but don't think I'm deserving of renumeration.

Didn't Snyder "gift" the Powercat logo to the university for $1 or something?

Super Bowl was Lamar Hunt's idea, but I think NFL properties snatched it up.

I remember when Pat Riley coined "three-peat" and tried to copyright it.

Whoever coined the SLTH acronym and the true meaning of it was brilliant IMO.  Makes the phrase "Super Bowl" seem like baby talk in comparison.
