I've always wanted to learn a dif. language but thought it may be too hard. Wife can understand spanish for the most part but can't really speak it fluently. I can read Hebrew but don't know what it says. :flush:

it isn't hard, the opposite really. i don't understand your point about hebrew.

Can read the characters, speak it phonetically - don't know what it is saying.

You mean you can say the charachters, not read the characters. Same with me and Spanish/French/Etc.

I've somehow convinced 3 KSU French instructors, that I can somewhat speak passable French. Fooled them. Suckers.

Yeah. Hard sometimes because it doesn't include vowels all the time.

Good news: it's really not that hard. Lots of dumb Indians in Latin America speak several languages (and I say that with ALL DUE RESPECT)
Bad news: unless you move to a different country, you will never spend the time it takes to learn it
May I recommend the harmonica instead?

I can understand a language 100%, but can barely speak it. it's weird.

Move to Phoenix. After a couple of years reading street & random business sings you'll be fine with Spanish.

Well, when I worked in roofing, everyone else was Mexican except me and the foreman, so I know a bit of Spanish :dunno:
