now that Walker and Beaz are gone?
I've heard this questioned posed numerous times by fans and non-fans alike.
Through 3 games:
01 Brown, Fred............ 13.3 ppg
23 Sutton, Dominique.. 13.0
32 Samuels, Jamar..... 12.7
00 Pullen, Jacob.......... 11.0
21 Clemente, Denis.... 10.7
42 Kent, Darren....... 10.3
Tonight vs. Cleveland State:
CLEMENTE, Denis..... 16pts
PULLEN, Jacob....... 15
SAMUELS, Jamar...... 15
KENT, Darren........ 14
Looks like this team has the capability of playing well balanced offense with many contributors. Not to mention excellent defense most of the time.
Any thoughts?

No two ways about it. Do you think he can average double figures over the course of a season? Probably depends on Frank and subbing patterns more than anything.

1 More game and I give my opinion on this team. Like I said can't really get a good look until we get through the first 5 games and that's when I will have a great idea what to expect the rest of the season from this squad.

Fair enough. The Vegas tournament will provide a whole additional level of insight no doubt.

Youre totally right. 4 games is definitely too early to attempt to judge a basketball team. But after 5 games, now we're talking.

should know after next weekend what we are dealing with...if I was forced to guess right now it would be a bubble team on the outside looking in with an NIT invite. 5th to 8th in the Big 12.

I like the even disribution. I'd be worried if we were winning games because of a random player getting hot and going off for 25 in a single game. You know that won't last. This way, even if Brown doesn't get to double digits, there's a decent chance that some like Anderson will.

if we ever put up more than 75 points it'll be a win our D is legit :eyeseeyou:

I will wait to give my opinion on the team and players till after next weekend. I want to see us play against some BCS level teams.
I have liked the effort so far though.

If this team can play defense like the '07 Huggs team did, then they will be fine scoring points. They have the ability to get more points in transition. I agree about waiting to see how we play against the big boys...that's when we'll really see how this defense can handle what's thrown at them.
Sutton can = Wright on d, but Sutton is a far better scorer in transition and by crashing the glass.

Well I look to see how the team now responds after winning there first game on the road. Oakland is no slouch team either. If we can continue to win the games we are supposed to win we should be fine. It was really nice to see us pick up an early season road win... those are tough to come by no matter who you face on the road.

I was listening on the radio and there were times where it sounded like the Catz were losing focus on both ends of the court. They were somehow able to regain concentration and persevere. We do need a leader or two no doubt, but I think the dispersed scoring is a positive.
