That series wasn't quite so impressive.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:05:54 PM
meh.   Offense needs to establish some rhythm.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:08:47 PM
Impressive play by Watts on the blitz.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:12:29 PM
Defense is "opportunistic" so far.

Now let's go offense.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:12:55 PM
Come on Dylan!!!

Fumble on McCardle.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:16:24 PM
I have a bad feeling about this game.

We've blown a great opportunity to jump all over these guys.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

SMACK!!!
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:22:24 PM
Offense needs to put together a sustained drive and get the defense some time off the field.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:22:52 PM
I was thinking the same thing myself.   Gotta get these defenders off.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:23:49 PM
Defense is doing a nice job so far, but they're gonna be tired.

Time of possession so far:

Marshall 15 minutes.
KSU 3 minutes.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:24:47 PM
Alright, 3rd and 20...

Nice sack.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:27:01 PM
You guys are right.  The offense really needs to put a drive together.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Beijing Cat on September 16, 2006, 12:27:39 PM
We need a nice long drive ending in a KSU TD.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:28:07 PM
They need to go the distance THIS DRIVE.

This will be the spark that will make this game a blowout.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:29:36 PM
Yuck, awful decision by Meier.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:30:03 PM
Meier is looking worse than his brother.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

awful
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:31:03 PM
Blocked punt for a TD by Marshall.  If we lose this game, it's on the offense.

Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:31:11 PM
Damn.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:31:45 PM
Blocked punt for a TD by Marshall.  If we lose this game, it's on the offense.

I do not understand why we can't run this ball.  West Virginia ran all over them and so did Hofstra.

Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:32:00 PM
I'm seriously pissed at the offense right now.  They've singlehandedly allowed Marshall to stay in this game.

 :yuck:
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Beijing Cat on September 16, 2006, 12:33:26 PM
You got that right.

Back to the previous comment slightly altered. We need any dirve, short or long, for a TD and to get back the momentum.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:33:59 PM
This needs to end right now.

Dylan is not showing poise and throwing well.  The offense needs to establish this run game.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:34:28 PM
Meier's first pass was a nice ball, but since then he's been pretty lousy.  But we need to be able to string a couple of first downs together on the ground against a team like this.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Beijing Cat on September 16, 2006, 12:35:46 PM
Somebody post an update on the o-line play. I am listening on line in Beijing!
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:37:24 PM
Somebody post an update on the o-line play. I am listening on line in Beijing!

On first down, Meier had guys all over him on a little 3-step drop.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:38:01 PM
Most of Clayton's yards are coming to the outside, so I'm gonna say o-line play is questionable on the run so far.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:38:34 PM
OLine needs to be pushing those guys back.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:38:49 PM
Absolutely no ability to run the ball.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:39:26 PM
Meier throws another duck under pressure.  Disgusting offense.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:39:50 PM
We aren't pass blocking worth a damn either.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:40:53 PM
This is going to get ugly if the defense and special teams can only score.   This offense needs to open up holes.

Time to go to the short pass.  Keep doing it, they are leaving the spaces open to stuff the run.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Beijing Cat on September 16, 2006, 12:41:22 PM
Sounds like the "MOB" gonna have to take matters in thier own hands. Lets go D!
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

YAHOOO!!!!!
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:45:00 PM
Meier darn near threw that easy pass away.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:45:53 PM
Offense needs to chew up the clock until half and get a score.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

Lost my feed. I'm living on updates boys!

We are not good enough to overcome holding penalties.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

Meier finds Norwood over the middle for 15.  Nice ball.

OK, switching to Homer mode..

This is all the plan.  We're gonna do a deep score now and get this game back.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:47:52 PM
Finally a pass to the TE over the middle.

Nice play for 15 yards.

No push on a 2nd down run.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:48:12 PM
False start.  Our oline sucks ballz.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:49:13 PM
Meier finds Yamon for the first down, somehow...although Yamon tried to dance out of the first down.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:49:36 PM
Meier's getting killed, but at lest Figurs was wide open that time.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

Petrie with a 15-yard carry to the 10.  1:10 left in the half.

Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:53:17 PM
Knuckles it through there.  At least the O got some points and a nice drive.  Now, nothing stupid on the kickoff.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 12:53:27 PM
Crap.

At least we'll go into the loclker room with the lead.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 12:54:04 PM
ONSIDE KICK!  ONSIDE KICK AND ONE DESPERATE THROW TO THE ENDZONE!

Sorta like Toledo's TD play at the end of the first half.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Beijing Cat on September 16, 2006, 12:54:25 PM
These red zone tries need to be 7 points not 3!
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 16, 2006, 12:54:52 PM
With the TOs and field position we've had, this should be at least a 21-0 game.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Beijing Cat on September 16, 2006, 12:57:04 PM
Where's the o-line coach??
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 01:00:20 PM
KSU has twice as many yards as Marshall, yet has half as much possession time.

If we can JUST GET THE OFFENSE TO SCORE TD's IN THE REDZONE.

Defense has played stellar.

Props to Raheem.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Beijing Cat on September 16, 2006, 01:01:23 PM
45 yards due to penalties.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 01:03:41 PM
45 yards due to penalties.

Yeah, but two of those were on the Cat's defense.. big ones.. pass interference call and an unnecessary roughness.

We've only had two false starts.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

we have no running game.  where is our James Johnson?  I guess we have conceided that we can not run as the current drive is nothing but passes...
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: mjrod on September 16, 2006, 01:29:23 PM
You still do, but you want to make yardage so that you can open up the pass game.

Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

Defense is playing great this quarter.

I really want us to go up two scores while we still have the wind.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall
Post by: Skycat on September 16, 2006, 01:49:17 PM
That was actually a very good play by Figurs.

No risk as long as the officials see that it hit the Marshall player.
Title: Re: K-State - Marshall

KSU should now just do short passes, small runs, but go down and score a TD and end this game.   KSU is just manhandling the Marshall O, but our offense could just get this over.

Kickoff - from the 20.. into the wind.  Watch out for the run back.   He's where I would line drive it or depending on where they stand, might just on-side kick it.

Gotta be bold and daring.

I don't think even the 2004 squad could blow it at this point.

KSU will run it out.   More importantly...

KSU didn't allow any offensive TD's.

KSU beat the spread.

If Defense wins championships, then KSU's defense played like Champions.

As for the celebration penalty, might as well blow a whistle on a fast break dunk. Same thing in my opinion.

The defense is playing better than it has in a couple of years.

I don't know that we're going to be able to develop any kind of running game this year though.

Holy Crap!

A post-game on field interview with a K-State player!

My world just turned upside-down.

I'm not totally impressed with our defensive backs.. marshall could have had some more points on the board if their recievers could catch...

Front 4 is getting to the qb without having to use blitz.
