Title: Chris Cosh
Post by: michigancat on September 15, 2006, 09:17:30 AM
Sound familiar?

Quote
Friedgen's pick to replace the retiring Gary Blackney, a defensive coordinator who got his players to figure out West Virginia's gimmicky offense, was Chris Cosh. Whatever Cosh's reputation or pedigree at Kansas State, this defense doesn't hit first, tackle or pursue very well. The defensive players don't initiate or act. They react. And against an option attack such as West Virginia's, which looked as deceptive as those old Delaware wing-T offenses, the Terps were shook like a flat-footed kid trying to defend against a Allen Iverson crossover. None of these kids would make it on the And 1 bus.

Cosh stood over there and looked completely clueless as his defense got worked like a rented mule.

There was a reason why Lew Holtz canned his ass at South Carolina.

Good assistants make a head coach.   :blank:
