Title: The State of Our 2009 Recruiting Class.
Post by: Pett on November 09, 2008, 07:39:24 PM
Alright, I know our recruiting class already sucks ass. But now Prince really has to give a sh1t about it. Not to mention we are about a second away from losing our only real Big XII caliber recruit in Bowie.

So where do we go with this '09 recruiting class? Does Prince still ask kids to visit for the NU & ISU games? What's really the point of doing that for himself? That's the only person that he really cares for to begin with, so why would he bring in recruits to show them our program if he isn't going to be able to coach them next season?

One things for sure, the next head coach better bring some recruits with them (G-Patt or Tuberville IMO.)

I guess we better hope for some impressive basketball crowds for the new coach.

We can't afford to have another terrible recruiting class.

The "rebuilding" that the new head coach has to perform could go 2-3 years deep.

If you want to see our 09 recruiting class go to tcu's rivals page and pull up the commit list.   I'm guessing Patterson will have more kids coming in for the Air Force game as well.  No way he landed those 4 star kids to play at tcu he's been selling KSU since the summer.

You are right on. KSU is quite the lure! Except for the cold weather. Oh, and the seeming lack of attractive ladies compared to FT Worth and Texas in general. Oh, and the prospect of having their family and friends watch their opponent hang 50-70 on them (in three quarters). Oh, and having to hear week after week from their coach to "let's go out there and try to win the Fourth Quarter and take away something positive". Oh, and... You get the point.

It's very balmy year round in Ft. Worth.  In fact if the forecast holds it will be T-Shirt weather this Saturday.  So the 20,000 that will show up for the tcu-Air Force game will no doubt enjoy the temps falling into the upper 30's as evening rolls around.

How many of those guys would start here next year for a Big 12 team? Waymon would have to love his chances, as well as the QB if Freeman leaves. He'd be to GP what Freeman was was Prince. He'd definitely have a leg up on the competition because he's "one of GP's guys."

As I have posted previously, I root for KSU unless they play the Frogs or another MWC opponent. From what I have seen, you need two or three classes like the one GP is compiling. There is little or no speed on the defensive side of the ball. BTW, if GP was to go to KSU I would be a bigger fan than I am now (never against the Frogs of course). He's been too good to us. He wouldn't take any recruits though. You guys don't understand what a straight shooter the guy is. He was completely disgusted with Fran when he stole several on his way to Alabama. No biggie, GP isn't truly available until 2010 unless he wants to forfiet the 7+ figure annuity tcu gave him if he stays until 2010. Also, if this class comes through, he can taste it.

He can taste it . . . "it" being the fact that unless he wins every game, and a few other things fall into place, he'll never get a chance at a BCS bowl unless the rules change significantly.

After awhile the Poinsettia Bowl starts to lose its luster.

That's the only person that he really cares for, so why would he bring in recruits to show them our program if he isn't going to be coaching them next season?

One things for sure, the next head coach better bring some recruits with them (G-Patt or Tuberville IMO.)

If GP leaves it would be a matter of either taking them or letting somebody else have them.  Those kids are not going to stick with tcu without GP.
Do you honestly think GP is the one and only recruiter for the team? I know you go to a Community College but come the F*** on. Plus, we aren't talking Manhattan Kansas. We are talking one of the largest metro areas in the Country. Very few, if any would follow GP to that wasteland and he knows it. That is why he isn't coming this year and maybe ever. We've been through this. Why are you guys in such denial? Are you that afraid you can't get anyone else worth a damn? Keep your chin up. Somebody will look under the hood and won't recognize the gawdawful disaster there. I'm rooting for you.

Alright, I know our recruiting class already sucked ass.

That's the only person that he really cares for, so why would he bring in recruits to show them our program if he isn't going to be coaching them next season?

What sort of digits are we talking in these 7 figures?
We have heard roughly half of Stoops' which would make it around 5 mil. Most of us think closer to 2.5.

This Toilet dude is a disaster trying to work the quote function.  Not that hard.
I was all thumbs on that one and new I would pay! Sorry.

You guys are really fascinated with toilets though. Does it have anything to do with your football program? Maybe you guys just like the taste of the water? Funny though. I guess.

I think the name is pretty witty... better than most around here.
You guys did well on that one. I chuckled myself.

7-figures.  Hmmm.  Sounds like it's more than ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!

Pure genius.

What if your employer promised you a double digit wage? would you automatically take it?
Listen up rubes. I am just talking about the annuity. I don't know if they offer accounting there but I don't have time to teach. The annuity / bonus (for staying 10 years as HC) is between 2.5 and 5 mil which he forfiets if he leaves. His salary will be 2-2.5mill. The admin was already making arrangements to at least match June Jones at SMU (2mm). You guys would have to throw stupid Aggie like money to lure him there. 3-3.5mm? Ain't happening (this year).
