I don't get it. I'm all about some JMart, but I got no real beef with Fitz. I know GPC is looked down on around here, but I guess I just don't get all the hate.
I realize he shouldn't have went with the story without checking in with Krause or Patterson's agent, but I am willing to bet that he had a credible source.

The story was retracted.
It seems that everyone else did have the same info. They just didn't use it as basis for breaking that news.

Its funny all of the hatred for this man...considering a high percentage of linked stories and information on these boards come directly from his website.
I can understand the disdain for this newest scenario, but its funny how everyone's reason for hating him is that he is a crapty human being, and thats all that is ever said.

I'm sure Fitz heard just like, apparently, everyone else in the media, but unlike the rest of the media, Fitz ran with this even though he couldn’t' get anyone official to say it was a done deal.....and you want to know why? Because no head coach, NONE, announces he's leaving to take another job before the regular season is over. And for him not to recognize that is what makes it so terrible.
Further, what makes him going with this story so hypocritical is that Fitz and his staff know or have sources that have told them all kinds of sh*t that has gone on in Ron Prince's program and they have remained silent, dead silent. Why? Because they know that (a) they could never get an official person to go on record and (b) they knew what it'd do to the football program. How many times does something break from J-mart or Meek and Fitz says "we knew this but weren't for sure so we didn't say anything". But all of a sudden NOW it's okay to run with it?
Which leads to the real reason why this time Fitz ran with it: because he was tired of getting his ass handed to him on breaking KSU news by J-Mart, Meek, and whomever else has an internet connection, because this site appears that it might up the anty on actual KSU news......he knew all of this and wanted to be the first...well...great Tim, you're the first, make sure to take credit in some terrible commercial for breaking the "Snyder to come out of retirement to coach the Cats because I"m a complete douche and broke a story 2 weeks to early" story.

What is one thing, ONE, that he provides as far as media coverage that you can't get for free. He doesn't know a thing about Xs and Os so he can't even provide proper insight in his 4 weekly keys to the game garbage peices. i'd say 2-5 times a year gates will update some bball recruit that isn't getting updated nationally. obviously, that recruit is usually either a scrub or really young, but still, not available elsewhere.
oth, the national rivals staff does a good job on top 150 (maybe even top 250?) type recruits. prolly worth somewhere between .25-.50 of what gpc charges for their info.

Yeah, the rivals national guys are good at hoops coverage. I bet the ku rivals site is pretty good as well.

meyer just answered my j. goodman question, asshole.
Certainly looks the part- long and pretty athletic. He was playing 16-under with a very good DC Assault team so when he did play he didn't get a lot of opportunities. Will need to see him more to get an accurate gauge on him as a prospect. But I definitely saw a lot of potential in a young prospect.

Exc. news. I remember when DeArmond was basically calling Snaer an MU lock after Dixon commited (back when Dixon was top 100).

I've stuck up for GPC recently and I'm not about to go into more detail about why everyone should lay off. If you've read the threads I've posted on, you know by now.
All that I will say is that I do know the sources, and I'm 100% positive you all would lay off the trash talk/hatred and call them credible if you knew who they were as well. Knowing what I do (and trust me folks it's killing me not to open my mouth, but my job/career in general would be :flush: if I were to say a peep) I'm pretty sure anybody else in Fitz's shoes would've done the same thing. Period. :-X

I hate to admit it, but it was my fault that Prince was hired. I do apologize for this, but at the same time I thought I had a credible source. GP would have come here then for a lot less money, but I sabotaged that idea. :blindfold:
