This week we beat Marshall by 30 and Louisville beats Miami up by 30. The following week by some form of divine intervention we beat up on Louisville and guess what boys and girls... we're back in the top 15 and possibly the top 10. Its unlikely but fun to see that we're 2 wins away from being back in the national press. Can our chances of a win against Louisville really be that much worse than our chances of a win against Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game?

yes, we were ranked when we played OU IIRC but then again, we did blow them out... Louisville, IMO, is the most underrated college football team right now, i don't think we have a prayer..

Louisville's got some nice players, but Kentucky is absolutely awful and Temple is probably the worst team in 1-A football.
Kansas State University is capable of beating Louisville.
-
Oh, and if we beat Louisville by 50 we wouldn't be in the Top 15.
Maybe 19.

If that.... I'm sure the national media would be labeling it a fluke. Louisville would drop 5 spots. We prob. would only be recieving votes, if not ranked 24 or 25. But Miami would still be in the top 20 with 2 losses... becuase... hey it's the canes.

Wheat,
It's not delusional, its hypothetical. Delusional would be to think that the shockers will ever have a football team again and that anyone would care. :ustupid:

Don't doubt Mayor Carlos - he will single handedly revive the program w/o any help from the university. They will play their games at Barry Sanders Park...

Quick look at Louisville backups:
1. Starting RB Mike Bush out - Replaced by two guys with over 20 career TD's and well over 5ypc career average.
2. Starting QB Brian Brohm out - Replaced by QB who played 8 games in '05 with a 139 QB rating. Also, performed very well as starter against UConn and V Tech (both were top 5 pass defenses in '05)
3. Starting DT Adrian Grady out - Replaced by Army All American Earl Heyman.
4. Starting DE Brandon Cox out - Replaced by 5 star recruit Peanut Whitehead.
5. Projected Starting SS Brandon Heath out- Replaced by 4 star recruit Latarrius Thomas.
Heyman, Whitehead and Thomas were all over the field against Miami.
6. Starting CB Rod Council out - Not really much to add here except all of Louisville corners seem to struggle, however, the defensive blitzes over 66% of the time, even to stop the run.
To make a long story short, Louisville is loaded with talent from 3 hotbeds of HS football, the city of Louisville, Central and Southern Alabama, and Florida. They deal with injuries every year just like every other program, and so far have managed to beat the teams they are supposed to beat under CBP, with the exception of one ill-fated trip to Tampa last year, which is another long story for another day.
