Title: Jobs in Manhattan
Post by: Fox on October 29, 2008, 06:39:38 PM
Anybody know of anywhere with job openings. My friends and I are broke college kids looking for jobs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I bartended while up at K-State, that's what I would recommend.  Great money and makes you cool.  Not old enough? Start at the door then work your way up.

Agreed. Good money and if you work at the right place you get paid while you drink. Win/Win.

movie theater.

The pay is crap, but you get free pop, popcorn, and movies.  I probably watched 1,000 movies while I worked there (no joke either).

blockbuster was pretty cool while I was there....  you'd be amazed at how many people return porno's in place of their buddies rented movies so that they get that embarrassing call at 3 in the afternoon.   Plus all the free movie/game rentals you could want.

So you are saying you enjoy going home to spend time with your dysfunctional family?  I'd rather spend it at work with a great excuse not to come home for the giant family events.   :ohno:

Hours are perfect for anyone going to college.  You don't start work till 6 and you get off at 11p or 1 am if you are manager/projectionist.  This way you can set up you classes from 10 or 11 am till 4 every day.  Who wants to get up every day anyways?

That's precisely why I have had a job the last couple years here in 'ttan. Now I'm unemployed, broke, and have no excuses to be in 'ttan during breaks  :banghead:

You can get a job at a property management company like McCullough Development or one of the apartment complexes.  The pay is better than most of the things posted here and you will pretty much just paint walls and occasionly have to assist people doing plumbing and tearing up carpet.

Component Fabricators 9-11 bucks an hour when I used to work there several years ago.  It's actual work though so that might be an unattractive open, you know, if you don't like physical labor.

Actually, bartending was the most physically demanding and stressful job I had in Manhattan (th-sat)

I wouldn't have liked working weekends during school, even at a bar.  Always enjoyed skipping class on Fridays after a long night of drinking in Aggieville, then start drinking again on Friday afternoon and seeing where the weekend takes us.

My advice...

Look for a job that is really really fun and you don't really have to do anything not fun or hard to do. Also, make sure you get paid like a lot of money.

Have a roommate who works there... sounds like entertaining work

Just remembered one in particular...   Was a dubbed VHS tape of this chick getting drilled in the ass, but the guy was wearing a prosthetic life like penis and was also nailing the vag.   It essentially looked like 1 dood with 2 dicks going to town on 1 chick.   It was copied over an episode of full house.

nuttier than squirel turds.

I've seen this.  I remember the twist at the end was that we'd all been wrong as to which one was the fake.
