I was there. Pretty exciting build up. Went to gameday with my dad and just chilled in the parking lot till gametime.
Remember when Oklahoma would do there "O-U" chant.
After they said OU, all the Cat fans said "SUCKS!"
Oh man, those were the days.
-
I remember College Gameday being there, I remember us being #2 in America, I remember Heupel throwing the ball all over the field on us, and I remember blocking the punt in the 4th quarter and T-Newman taking it to the house (probably the loudest moment ever inside Snyder Stadium).
That game was tough to digest with the Gooners winning 38-31. I say if we had to pulled that one out, we might of been set up for a serious NC run.
-
Great atmosphere. I remember being absolutely stunned at half being down 31-14. Just an aweful tackling performance by the D. Couldn't believe Huepel could keep going after the shots he took, seemed like he completed a few balls off his back. Great moment at the blocked punt, but a pretty disapointing day.
-
Newman runback after the blocked punt was by far the loudest moment in KSU football.
-
No doubt. The stadium after that punt block/return was absolutely crazy.
-

Yep, you're right. Thanks man.

I was there. I was riding a wave of dominance settling in for a KSU win. Figured we'd stomp a mudhole in OU's ass and walk it dry. I left with my balls jammed back between my legs like Buffalo Bill. :yuck: :crybaby:
-
Anybody else remember how many drops Lockett and Morgan had that game? I'm pretty sure they didn't have more than 8 catches combined. Although Morgan did take one to the house. And totally agree with ksu Fan. I've never seen a quaterback take more of a beating while still completing passes. Bennett would bring the house every play and no matter what Huepel would make us pay. :'(
-
agreed, blocked punt was the loudest EVER... did anyone else see the guys with the two toilet seats one panted purple (round) and the other was white (with the open end) it looked identical to the OU - I laughed my drunk arse off.
-
I did & I still believe Beasley made it through that pile on the QB sneak and took it 40+ yards. Anyone else remember this play??
-
I knew we were going to win after we blocked that punt. My seats were in section 23, pure madness. Then the kickoff return. :yikes: crushing
-
My first live K-State game...man, that was disappointing. I lost my voice for like 2 weeks because I yelled so much after T-New took the punt block home.
Pretty much set me up for many more disappointments as a K-Stater.... I've got faith that one of these days, we'll break through.
-
I was there.
we played so poor it looked like some of our players were throwing the game. :ugh:

I do, it was a pretty incredible play, and a pretty horrible call considering they let the play carry on 40+ yards down the field before finally calling him down. Watching it on tv it looked like he just snuck his way through the pile, and his knee never hit the ground.
-
was there.
Was the first time I saw KSU trail a game in person.
:frown:
I remember campus rumors about Morgan and Lockett getting paid to drop passes, lol.
-
I was there. Don't remember much except the loss didn't phase me because I thought we'd get them in KC. At the time I truly believed that we (the program) were in a spot where we would be competing for the North every season and jump up and challenge for the MNC once every 3 years or so for the forseeable future.
-
of course, we were on top of the world that game.
I remember thinking we were the sh1t, and OU was the "newcomer" to college football.
I shed a few after the game.
-

so true. I also thought their offense was "gimmicky".

I went to Gameday. Completely overrated experience if you ask me. I seriously thought I was going to pass out from the noise after the blocked punt. Never experienced that before either.
-
I was there in ICAT. It was the most exciting game we ever lost. Def the loudest KSU stadium had ever been up to that point.
-

One of the worst calls I have ever seen - without question he wasn't down.
-
wow a lot of you have a great memory. i was there and dont remember any of it. i think i have a way of blocking out such big disapointments after so many of them now.
-
I was there, my senior year. That game was the genesis of my utter disdain toward OU fans.

phantom whistle. didn't help that we had the dropsies on 3rd down. wtf
Stoops was in our heads.
-
I remember hearing one OU fan say to another, "Thank God we stole their coaches"
-
I was ten years old at the time. I remember watching OU play the week before (I think against Texas) and rooting for OU to win because I wanted Gameday in Manhattan...Beasley definitely did make it through the pile and I also remember being pretty upset with a few pass interference calls too.
My dad and I ate at Long John Silver's after the game and OU fans were cheesing about how loud our stadium got. That's back in the days where losing at home was really hard to imagine.
-
I was :'( + at the OU game in 2000...after the big12 title game I was :barf: + :suicideispainless:, thanks again OU
....but I was all :dancin: + at arowhead in '03.

I was there. :'(

I kinda think uSC was a pretty damn loud game, when newman returned the blocked PAT, because USC had just drove down and scored on us, and everyone was like... crap...
Then Newman's big return.. That was a very loud game.. 2000 Nebraska was pretty hella loud, too.
-
ou in 2000....Gameday, I tried to get my video cam in and had to take it back to the vehicle--I mean, who would give a crap that I was going to vid the crowd and Corso putting on the Willie Hat...shoulda took it as a sign of things to come. Some 0u jackass stole the chairback off my chair during the morning, had to go to fan accomodations and get a new one. Another sign.
But then, finally in my seat, and it was Harley Day, our seats were on the front row, Section 13, in the end zone, and those big hogs would turn the corner and drop the hammer, and we felt the rumble in our chests, damn was that an atmosphere or what?
After all the dust settled, and I was sleeping on my buddy's couch hide-a-bed, I don't think I got 2 minutes of good sleep, because I dreamed all night long of all of those passes that Beas hit people between the numbers with that ended up on the ground.
How Stoops put that group of converted quarterbacks together as a receiving corps, a rag arm lefty juco kid qb, a group of 5 offensive linemen that never suffered a minute of time lost due to injury all year long, and turned it into an undefeated national championship season is a flat out miracle. Especially considering he hasn't done it since with all the recruits he could ever want.
-
^Every national champ is ridic. lucky.

The blocked punt moment in the '00 OU game was above and beyond anything else. If you don't believe that, then you couldn't have been there.

QFMFT. Was ridiculously loud.

One of my favorite seasons because of the way we bounced back (eventually) after that loss, but what a horrible day. I just remember going to see Remember the Titans afterwards, then lying in bed and seeing all of those missed chances in my head. I was sick.
Oh ... the 2002 USC game ... I remember when USC scored, and I said to my wife (we were watching on TV, couldn't make that game), "Wouldn't it be cool if we blocked this PAT and ran it back for two?" I don't know why I had a sense of that ... I guess I was remembering the Indiana State game in 1991.

best part of the whole game imo. the place was shaking and the Sooner behind me was like WTF just happend. It was a great moment

The whole sequence around that punt was amazing, it was like someone built an amp that went straight past 11 to like 13 or 14:
Third down stop deep in their territory to give us a chance at the comeback -> :dancin:
David Allen sprinting onto the field for (if I remember correctly) his first punt return of the day -> :woot:
Blocked! -> :excited:
Touchdown!!!!!! -> :woohoo:
-
I was there....
great range of emotions that day. If I remember correctly, the previous week OU curb-stomped the Horns. That concerned me a little bit, but Texas was nothing back then.
-
I built the set for Gameday that day, then watched the game from down front around the 35 without any tickets.

USC didn't drive on us they recovered a fumble in the end zone, happened right in front of me, OU was louder though.
