Well . . . I'm going to throw out that ol' "I heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy" hersay-type thread and tell you what I know . . . .
I grew up in a town right next to Rozel, KS and played high school sports with Gary Patterson's nephews (Darell and Grant Patterson). Darell now has a sport flooring company down in Dallas and talks to Gary all of the time and goes to all of the tcu home games (sometimes with Gary's son). I asked Darell just 3 weeks ago when I saw him down in Dallas if Gary was ready to come to K-State. His reply . . . . "Yep. I think Gary would come to K-State if they got rid of Prince."
When K-State was looking to find a successor to Snyder, tcu had just given Gary a big pay raise, a contract extension and was pumping more money into the tcu facilities. Gary would have liked to have been able to give serious consideration to the KSU job 3 years ago, but tcu had just stepped up to the plate big-time for him and he felt that him leaving tcu right then would be like the groom running off and leaving the bride at the alter. They had just made a big investment in Gary and he could not, in good conscious, leave tcu after what they had just done for him.
But here we are 3 years later, and (according to Darell), Gary is now in a much better position to consider a head coaching job with KSU.
Take it all for what it's worth . . . . but I consider Darell just about as a reliable source as I am going to find until we hear directly from Gary. Now, I'm definitely NOT saying that Gary WOULD take the KSU job, but it sounds as though he would now be in a position to entertain such an offer were it to arise.

Nephews are pretty horrible sources, FWIW.

This post has no credibility at all. Everybody knows that only unnamed anonymous sources are credible. :flush:

Well, as long as you can associate the source with a KC area law firm who does work for the NCAA.

I'll let Dave tell you what he knows, I really don't know to much about the dinner myself. All I know is that his dad had dinner with GP's bro.
