Title: Sexy Joel Klatt gives CU-KSU analys.
Post by: fatty fat fat on October 16, 2008, 07:26:35 AM
KSU d-line can dominate CU o-line. KSU defense slow, can't tackle, may give up lots of + (plus yards)

no prediction given. smooth delivery, good posture. natural.

Looks like our staff isn't the only one making somewhat bizarre midseason personnel switches. (http://www.dailycamera.com/news/2008/oct/09/offensive-line-gets-goree/)

Quote
Goree, a 6-foot-1 product of Murfreesboro, Tenn., has never played offense in a game, but coaches are considering using him as early as this Saturday on the road against the No. 16 team in the nation because he is stronger and more athletic than any of their other options.

Goree said his only offensive experience since before high school was practicing as the backup center for a time on his high school team.

There are probably some things that exist in which our D-Line could dominate. An opposing offensive lineman is not one of them.

KSU d-line dominate... this I GOTTA see.

Here's to hoping Crews develops just a little more against CU and the X-MAN plays some downs.

It's too bad our secondary (safeties... Tyson (cough)) suck so bad.

From what I have seen from CU's offensive line over the past few weeks I think this is a very good possibility with the way our D-line is starting to play better. Believe it or not but CU's offensive line right at this moment may be the worst in the Big 12. They are banged up and playing guys that don't normally play. If we can't get pressure on Hawkins in this game it's going to be an ugly game. I think we sack Hawkins several times in this game.

WTF

We have only given up no more than 125 rushing yards in the last 2 games and we are starting to sack the QB a little more... I would say that is improvement from the way they had been playing...

Meh, Kind of like a Downy learning how to tie his shoes for the first time.

And Hawk likes Josh.  Maybe a little too much...

Quote from: Awesome Coach Hawk
"He is highly underrated, he really is," Hawkins said. "That guy is having a great year, he just hasn’t had the eye-popping stats that some of the other guys have had. Physically, he might cause you as many or more problems than any of the other guys, only from the standpoint that he’s huge and he can run. He had a great game against Texas A&M last week; they actually had a few more planned runs in there, necessarily than they normally do. But he’s very efficient with the ball and doesn’t usually turn it over, he doesn’t take sacks, he’s got a hose, he can run. Like I said, physically, he probably has all the attributes of anybody else.”

WTF

I think our D-line is playing a little better.  They were getting a good push against aTm and decent pressure on the QB.  aTm's QB was flushed out of the pocket a lot and made some nice plays but the pressure was still there.  After watching the last couple games I have noticed that the defense is horrible on 3rd and 7+.  We have no problem stopping them on 1st and 2nd down but our 3rd and long defense has been terrible lately.

Why do you guys give any credence to the aTm game for your analysis?

Why do some ku fans believe they have a shot at Oklahoma when they had to squeak by Iowa State?

Comparing yourself to "some ku fans" as a basis for an argument...

In the last 4 games opposing offenses are 35-64 on 3rd down against us...  55% is not exactly stellar.

True, 55% is f'ing horrible.  Hopefully X and Crews (Two guys that I believe are actually Big 12 quality D-lineman, a change from our other players.) can provide at least moderate pressure and presence in the middle.  Part of our LBs' struggles have to be due to the fact that they are routinely taking on multiple blockers while trying to stuff the run. A decent DT will at least clog up the middle and eat up a few blockers.  I still don't expect our D to be great, but an adequate performance will greatly increase our chances for a win.

I love the fsn hire of Klatt.

Still wondering why Corby is still employed by them though.

He is absolutely terrible.

CU's offensive line is indeed banged up...I believe they have 5 players from their OL 2-deep that are gone for the season.

We will see Cody Hawkins rolled out on many plays, at least to begin the game.
