Entertaining game to watch.  Would have rather Mizzou won though.  North will be labeled as "suck" again because they lost to the 3rd or 4th best south team.

Terrible. North looks like south's b1tch again.

I guess ku can beat OU though.

Predictable.  Chase and his bunch as well as the fans had put his name on the HEisman and had mu in the national title game.  Funny to see their best year ever fall this far short.  Kind of like ku losing to mu last year.

I laughed a little, and then cringed a little knowing that OSU is building this inside of $200 million dollars worth of new facilities, including a new indoor practice center being built now that will be the nicest in the country bar none.

With the rise of ku football and demise of the same at K-State, Purple Nation has unofficially adopted Mizzou to live through vicariously.  They would have much rather Mizzou won the Big 12/national title and tried to rub it in to random ku fans.

I think we were rooting for MU because they realistically had a shot at the national championship. They were the class of the North. I don't think ku is nearly as good they have struggled this year against mild competition and now they are about to face the brunt of there schedule. both them and MU have to go through a tough stretch of games where I see Mizzou playing better than ku. Just tough to swallow but all that talk about the North being back can be thrown out the window.

They didn't.  They were way to soft on D and Chase thought he was much better than he is.  It is a great system but it's not like they have USC or UF players in Columbia.

Mizzou fans not only hate ku, they hate the entire state of Kansas.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching Chase Daniel throw those three picks last night to lose his team the game.  That guy did everything he could to make himself the center of attention - the mohawk, the changing of his jersey number, etc.  What a joke.

Way to take my comment completely out of context and likely derail the entire thread.  You can honor a fallen teammate without bringing attention to yourself by changing your jersey number.

I agree with you COMPLETELY on Chase.  You forgot to mention the stupid picture with Buffet.

PS.  If MU were really dedicated to AO, they would pay his family some money for what happened instead of hollow gestures.

Illinois looks like a very marginal team, so Missouri was untested before last night. Get a little pressure on Daniel and the MU offense is human. Not saying we will have a chance, but would bet they lose at least one more game. The MU secondary looks like a Prince and Tibesar creation.

As of 10/12/08
1. TX
2. OSU
3. OU
4. TT
5. MU
6. ku
7. BU
8. NU
9. CU & KSU
11. ISU
12. A&M

I haven't seen anyone claiming that ku is anything more than a 5-1, top 20 team.  I'm merely laughing at the expense of all the Mizzou fans who penciled their team into the BCS National Championship five games into the season.  As for Texas Tech, I don't think it can get any worse than what they did to your boys in Manhattan.

I watched the Mizzou game and it was fantastic, very exciting game. I'd have preferred to see MU win, but still, OSU played an outstanding game and deserved their win.

I was disapppointed to hear that ku won. Always hope to see them lose, but I'm confident they'll soon revert to their natural place in the world... the Big XII doormat.

I in no way want Mizzou to be able to claim they have a N.C., that doesn't help us at all or make us look any better.  Do you really want Mizzou fans claiming Pinkel is a better coach than Snyder?  Cause if they win a N.C. thats whats going to happen.

I would have liked to see MU win.  I don't want them winning an NC, the CCG would take care of that.  But, I would like them to be ranked as highly as possible when we play them.  That way, if Ronny can somehow pull of a huge upset for the third year in a row, we look even better.  But (much more likely to happen) when MU whoops us, at least it was a really highly ranked team that beat our asses.

This thread is about a Squawk fan coming to a K-State board to gloat over Mizzou's loss and wanting validation for his whine. Don't y'all have your own boards? Why does it bother you so much?  ku is a field goal away from 6-0, whether you like it or not.  That's not validation, that's a fact.  You've got some obvious insecurity issues when it comes to ku football.  Never thought you'd see the day when ku football was the best program in the state, did you, Book?

overall, i'm pretty happy they lost.  don't care much for their retarded fans who act like they're the crap even though they've not done crap.  and pinkel is a tool with an enormous forehead.  i still think he's a jackass for pretending to win that iowa state game a few years ago.

Doesn't suck at all. Yes, ku had a great year last year and will likely do well at B-ball again, but I could give a rat's ass about that and also, this is a FOOTBALL board.  But really, how bad does it suck to be such a pathetic loser of a Squawk fan that he/she/it has to lurk on other schools' boards and diss them?  Now THAT's pitiful! :flush:

MU has been good at football and basketball many more times than ku has.  For one year, you had the best combo in the nation.  Do you think you will be back in the BCS this year?  Do you think this years bball team will go deep into the Big Dance?  It's amazing the delusional uk fans that think that somehow, one year of football sucess has suddenly turned your program into an elite football school.

I'm not really an anti-misery fan, even though I get accused of it all the time. I've lived here in Columbia for a quarter century now, and I know a lot of athletics personnel and fans. They are an arrogant bunch and it DOES feel good to see them put in their place every so often.

I've tried to tell folks they are overrated and overhyped this year, but I get ridiculed. They have a great offensive machine, but Chase Daniel has been in the system for seven years (since his sophomore year of high school)! He won't play a down of professional ball and probably wouldn't see the field under any other college offensive system. But for what Pinkel's running now, he's a great fit. With Coffman and Maclin complimenting him, they are very potent.

BUT, they haven't played good defenses - speed defenses. And that's a big reason why they enjoy their success. Well, guess what? They ran into a decent defense last Saturday - a speed defense. And they were unmasked. And guess what - they're going up against another one THIS weekend! If Texas doesn't suffer too much of a letdown, UT will embarrass misery. That's my prediction. I believe in ANY event, misery suffers its second straight defeat. But if Texas is still riding high, watch out! It could get embarrassing for Mr. Daniel & company.

And I just wish one of Bill's best defenses could go up against misery. I think I'd like our chances. I think either Terrance Newman or Chris Canty could hold thei own against Maclin.

EMAW!

I'm going to need see some evidence for this one.

The Cotton Bowl appearance will be Mizzou's 25th bowl game.

21 NCAA Tournament Appearances

Go through and match up how many times Mizzou was in both a bowl and the NCAA tournament in the same year.   They're not my school's rival, so I'm not going to spend the time.

FAIL.

Feel free to try again.

To gain knowledge, one must do the work himself.  I could give you a fish but I prefer to teach you how to fish.

I count eleven.  ku has only been to eleven bowl games, ever.  Also, shouldn't you be on your rivals board, rather than seeking so desperately for validation in a thread started by a uk fan also deperately seeking validation on a non rivals board?

I'm simply not going to sit here and go through page after page.  If you actually do have a link to provide, just do it.

It's your job to back up your claims.  Don't say it if you can't prove it.

I'll be honest.  It didn't bother me one iota watching them lose.  Of course they'l kick the stuffing out of us.. so it's all relative.

Academic years that MU has been to a bowl and made the NCAA Tournament (which was the topic of conversation, Bookcat):

1979-1980
1980-1981
1981-1982
1998-1999

So four times.  ku has pulled off this feat five times in just the last 16 years.  KSU has done it only once ('95-'96) I believe.  That is not good.

My point stands, ku currently has and has had a better combination of football and basketball than MU (and KSU obviously).
