From what I have heard, it looks like the transfer is a 2006 recruit who was unable to qualify academically to the school they signed with because of that schools higher standards. But would qualify at K-State, if that makes any sense. But I think they have to be enrolled at K-State by September 12. So we could be finding out in the next week or two.
A name thrown out was Daequon Cook, an Ohio State recruit.
-
its not evans or walker? :crybaby:
-
Ummm...Yeah.

Is he ineligible?

The information being spread around does not seem in line with either. It's definitely not Evans, if he's clean after a year of juco then I am sure we start recruiting him again and he comes to KSU.
This transfer is a from a major college program not high school, at least according to reports.
-
The Walker rumor has to be total BS. No way he would be eligible to play NCAA without graduating. :bs:
-
Ummm...Yeah.

HURRA!!!! ITS DAEQUAN COOK!!!! :D
-
I wouldn't be ruling anybody out right now regardless of when they graduate(d)
-
I swear, the names just keep popping up. At this point, who flippin knows
sure is fun though

It will really be a ton of fun if/when it happens.

Okay, I know like 2 hours ago I mentioned Cook, I have got another one. Cameron Tatum a UNC-Charlotte recruit who I think backed out when Hill came to K-State. He is friends with Beasely too. It gets more interesting, he is from Georiga, and I heard Huggins flew down to Georiga within the last few days.
At this point I don't know how high profile he is, and if he would make the rest of the Big 12 groan if he came to KSU, as reported by Fitz.
-
tatum isn't big time at all.
This is pissing me off. I think it's all garbage.
-
If Fitz says it's a big time recruit, it almost certainly isn't.
-
i don't know what to think anymore
-
tatum isn't big time at all.
Rivals has tatum as the number 13 SG for 2006. Thats big time enough for me.
-
...and we're on his list.
But I still have doubts that a mystery player exists.
-
i hope it's not walker. he should be coming, so if we can get him and another guy that'd be huge. god we're 1996ish-2003 ksu football spoiled.
-
god we're 1996ish-2003 ksu football spoiled.
:D
-
From what I have gathered it's a 2006 recruit that is qualified by NCAA standards but not by his current schools requirements so is being released of his scholarship! But a big name guy! So I dont really know if thats considered a transfer but thats the only info I can say about the player!
oden....................................
-
i was thinking along these lines, but a year earlier... brumbaugh.
like tatum, not bigtime enough to justify the hype, but '06 wing wilderness didn't qualify at charlotte. recruited by hill, i think, from atlanta, etc. but i don't think it is him either. frankly this whole thing is kind of pissing me off.
-
The problem right now is the variable of "big-time"
wtf is that?
-
just throwing out names... toni soda never made it to NU. i don't know if he is a big time name, but i was looking forward to seeing him in the big 12. good player.
-
Trust me, you will know by the collective groan throughout the Big 12. You know, I think this Bob Huggins guy is a keeper.
i didn't groan when soda was going to nu. and tatum wouldn't make the big 12 groan either. this guy is definately a 5 star, and if he's anything less i'll be very disappointed.

man you guys are so wrong. this board will be very embarassed when the announcement is made... for as much as you guys dog on fitz, if you compare this thread to what comes out of the "transfer", you will realize that he knew far more about this situation than any of you...
-
at this point I'll take Marcus Walker.

Blindly following Fitz is embarrassing. Not doing so is laudable. This holds regardless of whether he happens to be right or wrong. You're confusing distinct ideas.

i'm just saying follow him on this one, he is right on this one... he shouldn't have released the info that there is a myster transfer/recruit. because then everyone goes into a frenzy guessing who it is but he did it so that people think he broke all the stories. and he was the first person to mention this story, regardless of if he was supposed to or not.. but believe me when i say this, everything he has said in regards to this situation is correct. don't take every single word he has said so literally (i don't know if the big 12 will actually groan aloud, i would if i was say bill self or someone else) but the greater picture is totally true and you will find out soon...
-
... you will find out soon...
How soon oh great provider of inside info?

if your job description is to gather information regarding a defined subject matter and sell that information to interested observers with lesser access to information, are you a greater idiot if you:
a. have no interesting information
b. have some interesting information, but refuse to provide the information to your paying customers
c. b + brag to those same customers that you know something they don't.

Another possibility, Davon Jefferson, 15th ranked '06 prospect, #6 SF
Committed to USC, had qualification questions, and is not listed on USC's roster.

Rumor is now that its a player from Big 12 country.
-
One of Baylor's guys who maybe didn't qualify?? Baylor and CU are the only Big 12 schools that have anything beyond the NCAA minimum for admission (and if both really want a kid they'll get them in).

Cameron Tatum. This nonsense is killing me, guys.
-
my last post wasn't about tatum, but rather Javaris Crittenton, a 5 star PG
unless, you meant u think its Tatum and we're getting too overhyped for the whole situation
-
Javaris Crittenton is the first name that anybody has thrown out that makes any sense. Yes, he is VERY good. And yes, he could have very well not passed muster to get into Georgia Tech, which has very tough enterance standards -- even for athletes -- and that would void the LOI he signed with them. And yes, Huggs was indeed in Atlanta last week. And yes, he is a point guard, which is the very position that KSU needs and the position that KSU can offer playing time for a talented freshman. Having said all that, I still don't believe there is a mystery recruit...
-

does this mean he's eligible?
-
He's enrolled.
-
damn. i was just watching his highlights
HOLY &*$@!ING @#%$!!!!!!!!!!
this guy is amazing, i don't know how he's not the top 3 in 2006.

-
He's enrolled.
Who's enrolled? Where?
-
