Jayhox said he was one of 8 coaches that turned us down before we settled on Prince.

I think we became enthralled by Prince, and forgot about other candidates.

I figure the thought pattern for both Patterson and Leavitt went something like this:

"Hmmmm.  Let's see here.  I'm working on building a pretty solid little program here and making a name for myself.  They love me and I'm in no danger of being fired.  On the other hand, if I follow Snyder in Manhattan, the expectations are going to be outrageous.  They'll expect a Big XII North title this coming year because of all the returning "experience."  I've seen those returning players, though, and they're crap.  KSU's actually going to be a several year project, but a lot of the fans up there don't realize that yet, and they're gonna have crazy high expectations.  So...I could go up there, do a good job but have people think I underperformed because they're all drunk on purple koolaid, and have a tenuous job situation.  Or, I could stay here for a few more years, leverage a bit of a pay raise, and wait to go to KSU or another program until the expectations aren't going to be as high and I'll have more room to do what needs to be done.  Yeah, I think I'll stay."

It was something to see how much better conditioned those tcu players were than Baylor.  Patterson is going to get to the BCS with that tcu team one of these years.

Don't forget their raises.  I'm not sure Timmy and co. made a serious push for GP.
