How the hell did he end up walking on at Kent St?  Has his stock dropped so much that nobody was willing to risk a schollie on him?

His JUCO coach (Motlow) ended up at Kent State.  After things fell through with Maryland (the dean found out about his criminal record after he had accepted a scholarship there and basically sent him packing), he ended up there as well.
