Title: Interesting offensive line note
Post by: michigancat on September 03, 2006, 08:45:58 AM
According to the participation report, Derek Meyer was the only substitute on the OL the entire game.

Is Prince trying to build a "cohesive unit"?

Is that a good thing, or should he take players out of the game who are underperforming?  Or, was Stringer the only player underperforming?

stringer was brutal...undersized (no push in running plays) and poor form/slow in pass blocking
i failed to pay close attention to when meyer was in there
we are a left tackle away from being a decent team.  unfortunately with the LT position being one of the 4 most important positions (QB, lockdown CB, passrushing DE) we are in big trouble.  reminded me of what the chiefs were like last season when roaf was out.  we're gonna have to scheme around this somehow till stringer/meyer figure things out (if ever this year).

the rest of the o-line was decent i thought...i still dont get why were weren't running up the middle more...all those stretch plays were curious.
