sorry to steal your "thunder", KK.
Excellent knowledge of me, sys!
-
It's like, who is sd and mrs. dave going to "real life" hang out with now? KK doesn't show, 'lams will make an appearance and then be all, "d00ds, I have this thing". May have to make more "real life bbs friends" as horribly scary as that sounds.

you should try 3f. probably hard though.

Tried somewhat via KK. Rumblings in the Rusty/sd camp that they would make appearance at game but no such luck. Will continue efforts. I think he would be suprised by the sd family friendliness as such meetings.

i bet saul would be pretty easy (both to meet, and to befriend). make him a cookie offer.

I was burned to badly with the cookie situation last time (still an open wound).

what a stupid thread. rusty, you live in the internet, not michigan or kc, or anywhere else.
:flush:
-
We may be moving to a Rusty-free Kansas City? I don't know how I feel about that.
-
KC - r =
-
good news, imo. michigan needed a rusty-like presence.
-
i grew up in Mich.
real crap hole
-
I'll be living on Lake Michigan, prob. It's nice.
But mostly everywhere else is a craphole.
-
OT:
WHERE 2 CATCH DA KATZ IN GRAND HAVEN MI?
-
bye.

yeah. thats where i was. just near the indiana border. still on lake shore drive.

We could have met before the UNT game, fats.
I think DT is Kilgore Trout. IMO.

i don't buy the anti-michigan propaganda. it is nice, imo. very green and snowy.
-
I have only been to Detroit. Suprisingly nice airport since the remodel trips (should visit). Per rusty's post you could have eaten some of the KK cookies if you had visited for the NT game.

Like "on" the lake shore? Are you affluent (means rich, very fancy way to say it though).

excellent overture. don't see how trips will be able to resist delicious frosted cookies and airport conversation.

michigan real estate is hugely depressed. rusty can probably buy half the state when he blows into town with high-powered kansas city dollars.

I am def. renting. Prob. about a mile from the beach, depending on what I can get.
People in Michigan are kind of retarded when it comes to real estate. Everyone's like, "OMG! HOUSING IS SO CHEAP THERE! BUYER'S MARKET!", but you go to Grand Rapids, and houses are more expensive than KC. No one wants to drop their price.

Based on what I've seen I may have the size to play the DT in Prince's 3-4.

i've been to Flint for a wedding once, amazing countryside and beautiful vistas abound

Starting out in Grand Haven. Looked at Grand Rapids. (is a future possibility, for the cosmopaliton lifestyle)
Holland. Gross.
-
Saw that on your facebook rusty. I was going to say something but might have been to personal, you know??
-
Also, I am growing a beard in honor of the move. FYI.
-
Holland. Gross.
ok. whatever. if your desire for cosmopolitan lifestyle is more important than a healthy dutch-reformed upbringing for your children. to each their own filthy illicit desires, i guess.

you from Mich? You know about the dutch thing?
One pos: No mowing lawn on Sunday!
Although, since I won't be buying, I won't mow the lawn ever.
To paraphrase Mitch Hedberg: "I don't go to Home Depot, I go to Apartment Depot, where there's a bunch of people standing around saying, 'We don't have to fix sh*t'".
Really looking forward to becoming a renter again. The American dream blows.

Bizzare, enjoy freaking your kids out with that thing.

I can't have a beard anymore.
Face cold....so cold....
-
You know about the dutch thing?
had a friend from holland. seemed very healthy, wore lots of thick, wholesome looking sweaters, never mentioned being molested or anything as a kid, made homemade yogurt (not sure why). your kids would probably turn out the same, just fyi.
I won't mow the lawn ever.
you'll have to mow the lawn daily, is my guess. nazi housing associations/zoning laws (or whatever the &@#% they are) and abundant rain/snow. neither will care if you rent or own.
also, get used to duck and goose crap!
-
mow the lawn you panzy
-
michigan has some of the best dojo's in the country iirc.
-
mow the lawn you panzy
renters don't mow
-
its great excercise.
i guess if i rented i wouldnt mow either.

You'll freak out at first when you won't be able to catch certain games. (You think it happens now, but it will occur much more often.) Ultimately, that will help you grow as a person.

Who do you work for Rus?

My whole family lives in Michigan. Lots of dysfunction (family). Just stay the hell away from Detroit and Ann Arbor. Or Yipsalanti. Kalamazoo/Mendon/Three Rivers/Amish country is a summer GO ZONE. My best advice is to do what my uncle did and just get some super cheap land and build an octagon dome in a clearing off a country road with a questionable land title, smoke a bunch of weed and read books/use intranets.

I've tried to talk friends into doing this but they are all to . Actually spent the better half of a day pricing all those octagon do it yourself things. Would be fun to build one and randomly do random stuff to/around it.

Are there lots of Canadians in Mich?
If so, good luck Rust! They creep me out :frown:
I'm afraid of meeting people from the internet. I mean when I casually mention I'm a regular @ ksufans at a K-state bar or tailgaiting and someone says "Oh I visit that place! I'm (screenname here!)" , that's one thing. When someone sends me a PM that said "Hey, we're meeting up at my place to watch the KSU game. Here's my address!" I'm very :ohno:
I'm a shy guy in real life fwiw.

I was pretty scared when I first went to meet 'clams and rusty but once we said hi it was pretty much just a thread with words. You spend enough time on here you get to know what makes people laugh and what topics people are interested in. Suprisingly non-uncomfortable and fun imo.

So it went like this...
Clams: hey sd! nice to meet you. You smell good.
SD: thanks dood. how's your cat?
Clams: cat's good, we split a pizzza last night. I put some hot sauce on my half.
Rusty: Hey doodz, before I forget...here's some mix cd's I burnt last night. Pretty good stuff on there imo, trust me.
Clams: Thanks Krusty. I just got season 2 Wire on dvd, let me know if you want to borrow.
SD: Torrent bro, torrent...

do you say things like "lol" and "imo"? If so, do you say the acronyms or the actual words?

i was doing emoticons at the bar within the first 5 minutes of meeting sd ---> :users:

It was lol.
Clams, "users (makes users action with drink)"
SD, "LOL (actual laugh not spelling the acronym)"

Pretty much 100% accurate.
I said dood with 2 zeros though, like: d00d.
