Title: Snyder on Freeman: "He's for real."
Post by: michigancat on August 24, 2006, 05:48:57 PM
On Between the Lines with that son of a bitch Kevin Keitzman.  He based this on spring and fall practices.

He said he didn't recruit Josh, but he pretty much blamed it on an assistant's evaluation.

Also said he and Ell have closure and that they hugged.

Did he talk about the loss of QB's?

The interview's over, and that was pretty much it.  You know how Bill can talk for 45 minutes and not say a damn thing.

He said he understood Lopina and Webb leaving, but you could tell he was kind of annoyed by the Evridge situation.

Keitz should archive it, cause it was just nice to hear Bill's voice.

Oh, he also said Dylan had the best grasp on the offense of any QB he ever had (even better than Bishop, apparently).  He thinks he will learn the new system quickly.

Bishop was doing well to grasp the difference between his left hand and his right.

That explains the confused look he had when looking at his wristbands.  Of course, someone on the team might have written the letters upside down or maybe the same letter on each.

Crazy football players.

A better grasp then Beasley? Now that would have been a compliment. IMHO I always thought if we could of combined Beasley's brains (including his attitude and off field behavior) and either Roberson's or Bishop's talent we would have had one hell of a QB.

Did Bishop have a bad attitude or off the field behavior?
No, I didn't think so.  :jerkoff:

That's fiar. I cannot say Bishop was an off the field behavoir problem..BUT...considering the Roberson fiasco at the Fiesta Bowl I can lay that title on Roberson (no pun intended as it is not used for the third time in the same evening, ahem, I mean sentence)... AND.. I remember Snyder grabbing Bishop during the 98 title game and trying to calm him down (in fairness, that could be considered an off field issue).

Bealey wasn't perfect (Iowa State come from behind game) but he just seemed to play smart and within his ability.

Anyway, enough of the "old" Beasly love fest and back to the topic. KK can be an idiot.. BUT.. he sure does stir up the listeners.

god those come from behind games were painful to watch that year.  it was like what, 3 times from 21 points?  oh well.  we were so good back then :violin:

maybe it was just me, but it seemed during the interview that snyder was doing his best to downplay any expectations for this season.  despite the fact that during his retirement all he could talk about was he was leaving at the right time because of all the returning starters.  i think maybe he is seeing that his returning players under a new system will probably not equal instant success (which was talked about a little in the interview).  there just wasn't a ringing endorsement for prince and a great season this year during the discussion.

He still thinks he's the coach.

I don't know - in CoachSnyderSpeak he was about as upbeat as he ever got.  Now how RetiredSnyderSpeak correlates to CoachSnyderSpeak we'll have to see.

He said he didn't recruit Josh, but he pretty much blamed it on an assistant's evaluation.

Why doesn't he just admit that he was obsessed with finding the next Michael Bishop?

Anybody else notice that whenever anyone asks Coach Snyder about coaching again someday he always says "I never say never"?

Bishop, entering the NU game in 98' had 18TDs and 1 INT through 9 games.  Yeah, i will take those stats any freaking year.

prince is warming the seat for him.  it was the easiest way he could get rid of all his assistants.
